Problem with IE - Help please... Help please...

Recommended Posts

Firefox is beautiful, you can get themes theres about 70 or something, plus we all love the spread firefox banners. Plus Firefox works slighly faster than IE ive noticed. IE is a piece of junk that should be put in the rycle bin to put it in Microsoftn terms. Opear is nice but Firefox just rules the browser kingdom. Just use Fireofx and well hide IE or soemthing.

My favorite browser program is Netcaptor. Can be found at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Netcaptor is the first browser that I know of, since I first searched for a reliable browser 6 years ago, to have tabbed browsing. It also stops popup ads and whatnot. They do have a free version that you can use or you can pay for it. I paid for mine 6 years ago, and have never looked back. Things I like about Netcaptor:1) Tabbed Browsing2) Popup blocker3) fast loadup4) Did I say tabbed browsing?? :P:o :oNetcaptor is based on Internet Explorer, btw. I should have mentioned that at the beginning :P

That's why you should get firefox.Usually when you start using/istall another browser the other 1 is over-riden and your new one is your default.EX:When I downloaded firefox that's all that came up when I clicked a link.Or you could just go to internet settings and set IE as your main/default broswer(qoute the guy about netscator)1) Tabbed Browsing2) Popup blocker3) fast loadup4) Did I say tabbed browsing??as does mozzila firefox and best of all you can get themes for ff and its FREE!! :oAnd the bad thing about Opera is it costs and noone wants to pay...... :P:P

(qoute the guy about netscator)1) Tabbed Browsing
2) Popup blocker
3) fast loadup
4) Did I say tabbed browsing??

** I am a woman  and its Netcaptor, and I dont need skins that can distract me from the actual browsing business. **

as does mozzila firefox and best of all you can get themes for ff and its FREE!! :P

**The actual name is Mozilla, not mozzila..   I have used Mozilla firefox but I have not found it to my satisfactory.  Each to their own of course. **

I agree mozilla is good program, I use Mozilla Thunderbird for my emails since the outlook client causes me too much problems.

Hide IE... whats the point... why not just Uninstall it ?

Okay okay.... yeah !
people say that wou cannot uninstall IE.. you can delete iexplorer.exe, but IE is all over the place, integrated into the OS with all those .DLL files, and if you truesly uninstall IE, then you computer wont work...

well... they are wrong.. every single one of them.
Uninstalling Internet Explorer is actually Quite easy !

Uninstalling IE will imporve system performance, System reliability, everything.

but it will require a re-install...

step one... take you windowsXP cd, insert it into the toaster under maximum setting, (in a well ventilated area)

step 2.. install one of the following replacements...

Done... IE is completely and afely removed from your system forever.

Well, I don't care what anybody says, anybody should use the browser he likes, let's not make "browser-wars" ... but I DON'T NEED tabbed browsing and a pop-up-blocker and allt that stuff! I think many of the Firefox-users use it because it's a not-Microsoft-product, that's o.k. but I prefer my Internet Explorer. Why should I ride a BMW or a Mercedes when I own a Rolls Royce??? :-)

That doesn't make sense to me. You're saying you LIKE to be vulnerable?? You're saying you LIKE to have your taskbar clogged?? I don't use FF just because it's non-Microsoft, I use it because of it's shiny, detailed features that IE lacks. It has beauty AND style.

Firefox is definately a great browser and being a Mozilla product just like Netscape it uses the same DOM, it is less likely to be attcked by viruses right now but is becoming more of a target. I am running version 1.4 the newest...I use both browsers IE and Firefox (at the same time) while Firefox uses the same DOM as Netscape it still has issues with adhering to CSS standards (some things that work with IE won't work with Firefox) I know cause I get complaints on my site alot about certain features not working only to find the software they are complaining about was written with the IE DOM in mind...Other than that Firefox is fast, and only about 4.5 MEG so as some one who uses both (at the same time) I would problably use it as my only or at least first browser, but you would have to get it on a cd because without a browser how do you get a browser? FTP? It beats me, but you have to keep IE just to update your windows... so go Linux and use Firefox.

Also I dont want xp-2 It just sucks out of your Computer..! also it slows down startup/shutdown Time..! also decreased performance, And the main feature i like in Opera is you can resume your previous session..! Which lacks in firefox n IE..! Even if power goes down im safe..! All the windows will be there On starting opera ..! Well To all secure users i wud suggest Opera.. and fire fox just for secure i mean..! But For ease of controll n features i advice Opera..!Well Now u know im an Opera fan... yep ur right..! :D

I tried Opera but did not really like it and since most of my users at least on my sites use IE or Mozilla (Netscape or Firefox) I need to be aware of some of the issues for those particular browsers.

So mostly that is why I use those browsers, I am answersing this post with IE but am working on one of my sites with Firefox. It is is PHP-Nuke site that uses the IPB as forums and I am setting them up, and am looking for some modifications to the IPB to make some of my phpBB Users feel more at home with the IPB board.

Yeah, just use mozilla firefox. The only problem is that you will have troubles streaming video. Go to: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/?utm_source=getfirefox-com&utm_medium=referral to download then go to Mozila firefox tweeks to improve the speed in which you can browse at.
