Recommended Posts

I havent done a lot of browsing since so i have no clue if its gonna be going any faster or not, i've got a t3 connection so i dont think i have a big problem with it to start with though.. hmm we'll see

Do u people have any idea of making IE7 work faster, everybody's telling about Firefox, no one seems to care about IE users!!!

This will make your pages load even faster.
1. Type "about:config" into the address bar and hit return. Scroll down and look for the following entries:

network.http.pipelining
network.http.proxy.pipelining
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests

Normally the browser will make one request to a web page at a time. When you enable pipelining it will make several at once, which really speeds up page loading.

2. Alter the entries as follows: (by double clicking them)

Set "network.http.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.proxy.pipelining" to "true"

Set "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests" to some number like 30. This means it will make 30 requests at once. (I changed mine to 100, works great.)

3. Lastly right-click anywhere and select New-> Integer. Name it "nglayout.initialpaint.delay" and set its value to "0". This value is the amount of time the browser waits before it acts on information it recieves.

or you could just download "fasterfox" witch does that for you, plus other tweaks that speed up your broswer

I have already seen these changes in settings a lot of times on the net. And also in this forum... Everyone seems to want us to change that. Anyway, I dodn't know about the fasterfox plugin but I won't try it since my connection speed is already good to me.
