Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I started to build up my PC collected and decided to sell all of them apart from my Laptop & my Crappy Dell PC which is about 4 years old :D .

I decided I might as well just buy one instead of making one again so I did I found a company that seem to be very cheap on part prices and they would build it. Here are the pc specs below!

CPU: Intel? Core i7 Extreme 975 (Overclocked 4.00Ghz Per core) ?543.50

I have chosen this proessor because it seems ideal for what I am going to be using the computer for.

Ideal for what? Making your own weather forecast in your country or playing crysis on 4 different processes? lol :)
As for the hard drive... Do you really need that for all the porn and games you download? :o Don't you ever delete things?

And I would've chosen NVIDIA over ATI. Don't know if those are better than the NVIDIA ones..

I Know my site is down my partner who I was working on it with decided to shut it down for some reason. I still need to remove it from my signature and stuff.

Another one? The other one isn't even a few months old. Compared to the other one, the graphics card is a downgrade. While the RAM posted in this topic is faster than the other one, it's still a CAS latency of 9—you can do better. If you're going to go with an Antec case, i'd go with the 1200—not that much of a price difference.

That other one I have sold including ripping the game off. I can't really change anything now as I ordered it about 5 hours ago :). The graphics card I will be upgrading. The company only allowed that one. Once I have it I will be getting a Crossfire ATI.

I decided I might as well just buy one instead of making one again

But building it is most of the fun!

CPU: IntelŽ Core i7 Extreme 975 (Overclocked 4.00Ghz Per core) Ł543.50

I have chosen this proessor because it seems ideal for what I am going to be using the computer for.

If you're mainly using it for gaming you won't notice a lot of difference with a quad core over a dual core processor. The price isn't bad compared to most retail prices at the moment though.

Motherboard: Asus P6T Deluxe V2 (Intel X58 chipset, SLI/Crossfire)

I had to go for this motherboard to be compatible with everything I have custom selected.

The Asus boards are pretty good for Intel processors, and should be able to handle the overclock you want on the CPU. Just beware with the watercooling that you'll have no active cooling on the motherboard heatsinks. With the overclock you're proposing that could become an issue.

Hard Drives: 1TB S-ATAII 3.0Gb/s

As many I am sure on this forum, Love to download but never have enough space, Not a problem for me anymore.

If I was spending this much on a PC I'd get a few SSDs rather than a traditional hard drive. Alternatively, I'd get a few hard drives and run them in a form of mirrored RAID array to protect against failure and data loss. Hard drives aren't exactly expensive and it's a worthwhile thing to do.

Graphics card: 2 x ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB

One of the most awesome things around! 2 of them as well BOOM :D

Good choice of cards. Are you going to include them in the watercooling loop, or leave them as air cooled? Again, with your budget, it seems a shame to leave them as air cooled when you could put them in a watercooling loop.

Operating System: No Operating System - I will install my own

The one way to save money on a PC :o (I never download stuff :) )

The only way to save money with the OS is to use an open-source one. Windows 7 OEM is currently over Ł140 - a rip off compared to the low low cost of Linux.

Case: Antec Nine Hundred Two

I personally prefer the more subdued looks of the P183 and P193. If you do like the looks of the 900 then the 1200 is probably a better choice with your components.

2X Apple LED Screen

I've not been impressed with Apple's monitors on their current iMacs so probably wouldn't go with them for stand alone displays. As I've said before, I've been very impressed with the HP LP2475w and would thoroughly recommend it.

Keyboard:

Apple Slim wireless Keyboard

I personally prefer my keyboards to have their buttons in the right places... :D

Didn't you get a PC with 12 gigs of ram etc.. etc...? I'm not sure how this one compares to the last, but the specs still look very ample for gaming.

Thanks for that great reply rvalkass, I do not want linux as I have tried it and disliked it therefore The Pirate bay helped me out :o. I realised a while ago that the mouse didn't have right click so I cancelled that and got the Razer Mamba Wireless Mouse from amazon! :). Anwii How can I be dreaming when I have ordered it.inverse_bloom I did but I have sold that one more than I made it for :D. So it really does not matter to me.

No, its exactly $2,267.20............ :-p

Sounds like you are spending quite a lot of money, but yet you could have been a bit smarter with the graphics cards and the cooling.

I would get some waterblocks up on those cards, and change case. Antec 900 has great cable management if you cut holes in it, but not default, and the case is not particularly large to work with, you won't have too many options in it. I would personally go for a Li-an li, or some other high end case, if you are going that high end on the parts.

6GB of ram? Common man. Bump that up! you seem to have the money.

Well to me it seems like the only downsides to this computer are the graphics cards and the case.

I have nothing to say about the monitors, just overkill :-p Cost way to much, not all that great (on an iMac atleast) and you could just get a giant tv and plug it into your computer :-p

Yup sucks right? I have ordered some from Overclockers UK 12GB! The only reason I didn't get it from the start was because it was a Rip off from that place :/.
