Microsoft Songsmith Video Ad FAIL

The newest product of Microsoft? is called Songsmith™ a software counter-part to Apple's GarageBand — which allows virtual creation of music for your song. First, you need to sing the wanted music the best you can through a microphone plugged into your computer, so then the software to automatically to create music depending on the tone and, altitude of the voice and the chosen options, with which you can fully complete your amateur performance.

 

To promote their new product, Microsoft made a marketing campaign called "Everyone Has a Song Inside" in which several promotional videos are included in which songs are sang fully by the software. The promotional videos received bigger attention than the software itself and its use, from a simple reason: they are horrible!

 

If you had any objections and bad words for the previous marketing campaign of MS, worth $350 mils, after you see the new vids for Songsmith, you will miss the previous ones...

 

Many sites and blogs around the world actively write about the horrendeous videos (and that's not the point of the marketing team of Microsoft):

TechCrunch calls the video "Microsoft relinquishes ‘worst promo video ever’ award to another department within Microsoft"

The popular Gawker blog calls: "Microsoft Ad and Product Advertised Could Both Conceivably Make You Want to Kill Your Family"

The blog VideoGum made a post with the title: "Nothing Can Prepare You For The Microsoft Songsmith Commercial"

pps. Can you guess the reason why Microsoft is losing its employees now? I hope the marketing team isn't there. Who'll make hillarious videos like these if they lose their jobs?
