Photoshop - Cubic Tornado

Step 1
Hit 'D' to reset the colors, then go to filter->render->clouds.

Step 2
filter->render->difference clouds. hit ctrl+f 3 times to repeat the effect.

Step 3
Choose filter->distort->polar coordinates->rectangular to polar.

Step 4
Choose filter->stylize->extrude-> type=blocks, size=30, depth=30, random depth and check "mask incomplete blocks".

Step 5
Filter distort->twirl with a value of 50.

Step 6
hit ctrl+u to bring up the hue and saturation menu. check "colorize" and play with the settings 'til you find a color you like. For this tutorial I used 220,60,0

Amazing tut, so easy to follow, i actualy made two and blended them together and this is what came out:
