Alright, heres how it goes. Anyone who gets any NBA news this offseason post it here! Easy enough? I'll start the dominoes flowin'!

------------------------------------

BARON DAVIS HAS AGREED TO SIGN IN PRINCIPLE WITH THE LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS!

If the Clippers resign Elton Brand and get one or two other pieces, they can become a good team!

LAKERS BEGIN TALKS WITH JOHN BARRY AND JAMES POSEY!

The Lakers have talked with representatives of Boston small forward James Posey and veteran San Antonio sharpshooter Brent Barry to gauge the free agents' interest.

Posey, a key reserve for the Celtics, is expected to draw the full mid-level exception of five years and about $30 million, though the Celtics have said they consider signing him an off-season priority.

Posey, though, is studying his options, primarily on championship contenders that include the Lakers, said his agent, Mark Bartelstein.

"I would say so," Bartelstein said. "When you get a taste of a championship, you want to keep winning them. The Lakers are a great team."

Posey, 31, averaged 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds a game in the playoffs for the Celtics, including an 18-point outburst in the pivotal Game 4 of the NBA Finals. Posey was also on the Miami Heat team that won the championship in 2006.

Barry, 36, spent the last four seasons with the Spurs. He averaged 7.1 points last season, making a commendable 42.9% of his three-point attempts. He is a career 40.7% shooter from three-point range.

In my opinion, Barry is washed up. I think that the Lakers should try hard to get Posey. That guy plays with some heart. See wat he did to the Lakers in the Finals? Yeaaah...

From LA Times

BAI BAI SEATTLE!!!!

YEP, THE SEATTLE SUPERSONICS HAVE LEFT SEATTLE AND ARE NOW MOVING TO OKLAHOMA!! Personally i think the City of Seattle is very stupid. Why waste this revenue maker? Remember what Los Angeles did to the Raiders and Rams? Yeah, I think Seattle will regret it.

Chris Paul agrees to four-year, $68 million deal

Chris Paul completed his contract negotiations with the New Orleans Hornets on Thursday, agreeing to a four-year extension worth $68 million, said Paul?s agent, Lance Young. The final season of the contract is at Paul?s option.

Paul, who met with Hornets officials on Wednesday, is expected to sign the contract Thursday evening.

The Hornets offered Paul a five-year extension worth approximately $87 million, the maximum allowed, but the All-Star point guard opted for a shorter contract ? an approach LeBron James and Dwyane Wade previously took when they signed extensions to their rookie contracts. Paul will now have the ability to become a free agent in the summer of 2012, giving him leverage to ensure the Hornets commit to maintaining a championship-contending team.

I think that's great, he desrves that money cause he was the MVP runner up. Buut boy thats a LOT of money!

That was from Yahoo.

Duhon to the Knicks: Chris Duhon has agreed to a two-year deal with the Knicks , paving the way for the franchise to cut ties with Stephon Marbury. Whether Marbury will be traded, bought out of his contract or simply waived is yet to be determined. People close to Donnie Walsh and D?Antoni consider Marbury?s departure a near certainty.

Pistons going for Maggette: The Detroit Pistons would consider using all of the mid-level exception on small forward Corey Maggette. The Pistons have had at least one conversation with Maggette's representatives since Maggette said that he would consider signing for the mid-level exception, which is worth $5.8 million.

Monta Ellis: Monta ellis would like to play in new york

Michael Beasley has cracked sternum: The team not only confirmed today that Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in last week's NBA Draft, has a "slight crack" of his sternum, but also revealed that 2007 Heat first-round pick Daequan Cook will be sidelined for two to four weeks with a slight separation of his left shoulder. While Cook will now miss next week's summer league in Orlando, the Heat is hopeful that Beasley nonetheless can compete in the week of games at the Orlando Magic's practice facility.

Arenas stays in Washington: Yesterday, according to Arenas, the three-time all-star agreed to a six-year, $111 million contract with the Wizards, two days after the team offered him a six-year deal worth between $125 million and $127 million, the maximum allowable for a player with seven years of NBA service under the league's collective bargaining agreement.

NBA Salary Cap For 2008-09 Season Set At $58.680 Million

The National Basketball Association today announced that the Salary Cap for the 2008-09 season will be $58.680 million. The new Cap goes into effect immediately as the league's "moratorium period" has ended and teams can begin signing free agents and making trades.

The tax level for the 2008-09 season has been set at $71.150 million. Any team whose team salary exceeds that figure will pay a $1 tax for each $1 by which it exceeds $71.150 million.

The mid-level exception is $5.585 million for the 2008-09 season, and the minimum team salary, which is set at 75% of the Salary Cap, is $44.010 million.

For the 2007-08 season, the Salary Cap was set at $55.630 million, the tax level was $67.865 million and the mid-level exception was $5.356 million.

Philly Wins Race For Brand

A number of NBA front office sources have revealed that the 76ers have won the Elton Brand sweepstakes, according to ESPN.com.

Brand has reportedly informed the Sixers that he will accept a five-year deal worth an estimated $82 million, spurning what was presumed to be a slam-dunk return to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Philadelphia reportedly agreed to a deal that would send Rodney Carney and a future first round pick to the Timberwolves in a trade designed to free more cap space, earlier on Tuesday.

I don't get this one. He took 10 more million so he could go East, though Clips just signed Baron in order to compete. It's not just about money as Warriors offered him even more(about 90 Mil).

The Heat are close to signing three-point specialist James Jones to a free-agent contract, according to a report in The South Florida Sun-Sentinel.

Pat Riley is prepared to give Jones a five-year deal starting at $4 million for next season. The final three years of the contract would be conditional to protect the Heat for the 2010 free-agency period.

Miami is expected to use the remainder of their salary cap exception money to sign second-round pick Mario Chalmers.

Warriors Offer Turiaf Four-Year, $17M Deal

Lakers' forward Ronny Turiaf has agreed to a four-year, $17 million offer from the Warriors, according to The Press-Enterprise.

Turiaf is a restricted free agent, which means that the Lakers will have seven days to match the offer.

Agent Mark Bartelstein wouldn't confirm or deny the rumors.

"We've talked to a bunch of teams," Bartelstein said in a phone interview. "There are a lot of teams that are interested in Ronny. We'll just wait to see what happens."

Source: Lakers Offer Odom For Artest

According to a league source, the Lakers have contacted the Kings regarding Ron Artest and are believed to be offering forward Lamar Odom.

Kings basketball president Geoff Petrie declined comment on whether the Lakers had called.

"Right now, (Artest is) just a terrific player to have on your roster," Petrie said. "I don't really have any speculation one way or another (about his future). We'll see what other things ? not specific to Ron ? but if there's some other way we can improve the team or change the team, we'll take a look at it."

Bird All But Confirms Tinsley Is A Goner

Larry Bird discussed the Pacers recent moves on Wednesday and confirmed that Jamaal Tinsley will not be on the roster when the 2008-09 season begins, according to The Indianapolis Star.

Coach Jim O'Brien added to the speculation, claiming he believed that the point guard position is solidified with T.J. Ford, Jarrett Jack and Travis Diener, with no mention of Tinsley.

"We're trying to do some things to see what's out there for Jamaal and hopefully we can get something done," Bird said. "Jamaal's been great for us. Unfortunately, he's been injured from time to time. He's still a great basketball player, but Jimmy's right. We're probably going in a different direction."

Tinsley has three years and $21 million left on his contract.

Price For Posey Looks On The Rise

The price for highly-coveted free agent forward James Posey appears to be on the rise, according to The Boston Herald.

Posey's agent, Mark Bartelstein, said on Wednesday night that he hoped to have something done in the next 48 hours.

According to league sources the Celtics are willing to offer him the full midlevel exception, but with Corey Maggette off the market (Warriors) several teams are expected to increase their offer for Posey.
