How to hide My Documents icon from your Desktop

 

1- Click start menu > click Run to open Run dialog box. Type regedit to run Windows Registry Editor.

2- Find following address:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CLSID

3- Open

{450D8-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103}

tree. And then click on (ShellFolder).

4- In the right panel create a new DWORD Value and then name it "Attributes".

5- To hide My Documents Icon, give it value of : f0500174

6- To show My Documents Icon, give it value of : f0400174

7- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer.

 

How to hide Properties from My Computer context menu

1- Click start menu > click Run to open Run dialog box. Type regedit to run Windows Registry Editor.

2- Go to following address :

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explore

3- In the right panel create a new REG_DWORD Value and then name it NoPropertiesMyComputer.

4- To hide Properties, give it value of 1

5- To show Properties, give it value of 0

6- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer.

 

How to hide Drives

1- Click start menu > click Run to open Run dialog box. Type regedit to run Windows Registry Editor.

2- Go to following address:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer

3- In the right panel create a new DWORD Value and name it NoDrives. Then open new DWORD key and then select "Decimal".

4- To hide drives type below Decimal entries :

A: 1

B: 2

C: 4

D: 8

E: 16

F: 32

G: 64

H: 128

AND ...

TO HIDE ALL DRIVES TYPE 67108863. TO HIDE TWO OR MORE DRIVES; ENTER SUM OF THEM. FOR EXAMPLE TO HIDE : DRIVE D,E,F TYPE 56

7- Close Windows Registry Editor and restart your computer.

 

 

Note: incorrectly editing windows registry may damages your computer; please create a backup from your registry.
