josemariallovet 0 Report post Posted March 1, 2007 Hello. Since most of you are native english speakers (and readers), I wanted to ask you a question. We all know english, french, italian, russian and german classics (by classics I mean not the greek nor the roman but the most important books from the Middle Ages and until the end of the XIXth century) like Shakespeare, Dante, Goethe, Schiller, Stevenson, Defoe, Dickens, Hugo, Moli?re, etc. But what about the spanish-speaking classical Authors? I beleive -tell me if I am wrong- that outside the spanish-speaking world the most famous spanish-speaking Authors are from the XXth century -like Garc?a M?rquez, Borges, Cort?zar, etc-. Have you read any book written by a classical spanish-speaking author? If you have, what do you think about spanish classical literature? And If you haven't, what is the main reason?
