Web Design Help

Recommended Posts

I was hosted here before, but then so many things were going wrong with my site. i could never get the skin uploaded and simple problems like that. so i deleted my hosting account, so i could restart. But before i do this i need to learn how to do all HTML and other programs like that. so it is a lot easier for me to run my site. So if anybody here has some really good tutorials and teaching programs for HTML, and web page design, please post them here. thanks.

Start over at the http://www.w3schools.com/ site. They have a nice set of tutorials for beginners and can assist you with html and css, both.
They also have a Reference section and a pretty cool 'try-it' editor which assists you in refining your code and testing stuff.

and when learning HTML, use your notepad, and type slowly that code you are learning. save it and test it. the more you type code, the faster you will learn it.
w3schools is all you need, and you can check out this site too

savagemonkeyz14, W3 schools is one of the hardest place to learn, even if it was html, or any other launguage, so just if you are looking for a nice and quick website, then get a blog like word press, or if you want a quick template there are a lot on google, if you didn't find one for your taste I'll be happy to make one, no charge, pointing that I have all necessary software an knowledge: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, flash...

Personally, I learned from http://www.yourhtmlsource.com/ It was pretty simple for me to get going. They have a specific tutorial for your first web site. It worked for me but it really depends on what you are trying to do. http://www.pixel2life.com/ is good if you have something specific in mind. You can search on a tutorial to do certain things. That is for more than just HTML. http://www.w3schools.com/ isn't that bad either. I haven't really tried to use them that much but they have a lot of information on there. Whichever really works best for you but there are some good sources to get you going. Just takes a bit of practice and learn as you go. That is basically how I learned.

I agree, unless you learn best by reading, or can read long, sometimes complex, stretches of text and comprehend it 100%, its probably not the best place to start out. Its a good site in that it won't teach you how do to anything improperly (since they make the standards and all), and is a solid reference if you just need to look something up, but I wouldn't use it if I were just starting out. Tizag is my favorite place for these sorts of tutorials, but I haven't looked at some of the other sites already mentioned, so they may be better.

Not true... W3 gives you a do it your self type of code base when your learning HTML... they show you what it looks like outputted and then when you add code your self or change something you an see what you did...I learned a lot from w3 schools.
