HyBriD54 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2008 Lol, don't exactly trust Blizzard fully when coming to release dates... I still remember how badly Starcraft Ghost was pushed back and eventually "postponed indefinitely". I'm interested in how well Starcraft 2 would play out though... with all those new units and abilities, it looks like Blizzard Starcraft 2 Development Team (most of the original Starcraft staff have already left) will have to spend a LOT of time trying to balance the three races to the extent of balance between the three races in the original Starcraft (they were pretty well balanced, and it was mostly the map itself that would favour particular races rather than the gameplay itself, and yet they were so different). The Original Starcraft and Brood War were pretty damn fun if I remember correctly, as I was still playing it even after several years after it's release (in fact, a lot of people still play today, and online).Another thing I'm interested in is the Starcraft 2 Map editor... the Warcraft 3 was extremely powerful, allowing you to manipulate MANY of the game's (Warcraft III Frozen Throne was more adept at this) aspects, allowing you to transform the core game into something completely different (appearance-wise, gameplay-wise etc. [although this would require a BUTTLOAD amount of editing and designing to do, especially if you wanted to create models of your own or create a lot of complicated triggers]). That was a significant step up from the Starcraft StarEdit Map Editor (which during it's time, was pretty good itself), and the release of Frozen Throne was also a rather significant step up from the Original Warcraft III Map Editor (allowed the customization of items, as well as many new triggers, units, doodads, etc.).
