darran 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Is anyone using this to track their feed subscribers statistics? I am using it but I do not understand how it works. http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/As you can see from my site, my feedburner feed is http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and it is pointed to my wordpress feed of my blog at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Whenever there is a new update, the feedburner feed would update and anyone who has subscribed to it, would see the latest posts in my blog. But I have done a subscribe to the feedburner feed using my rss reader (feedreader) and google reader, but it is not turning up in the count, it is still stuck at 0 subscribers. Can anyone help me in this?
Matt2 0 Report post Posted February 2, 2007 Hey Darran,I use Feedburner for my blogs and I love it! Feedburner will only work if you give people your feedburner url, so I would stop advertising your "normal" url (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/). You need to ping feedburner to make sure it got your post. I use a service called Pingoat, which is free. It pings alot of different blog advertising sites, so it is good advertising for your blog as well as pinging feedburner. I think you need to download some posts in your feed reader before Feedburner knows someones using an application and to add another count to your subscribers counter. Other than that I don't know what might be causing it, try these things and tell me if it works Also, if you want to hide your url to your normal feed, change your auto discovery settings, theres information on how to do that on the Feedburner website, if you need help just ask me and I'll find it for you
