BooZker 0 Report post Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) I have spent a lot of time on the creation of my new site. There is still a ton of work to be done, but i have just enough to show you a good sneak peak. Here is my old site:http://boozkerstweaks.blogspot.de/As you can see it's a simple blog with Windows tweaks in it.I didn't like how restrictive blogspot was so i moved here and deleted my old site on trap and put this in its place. I was hoping you all could test out all the sections, except forum because i have started on it, including a PDF download. I only have one tutorial up as we speak, but I have a lot done, just not up on the site yet. The tutorial that i want you all to test is "Change Windows XP to Look Like Windows Vista" under Tutorials under GUI Tweaks.http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/That's the new one i want you all to test out and tell me if you like it at all. caos dreamer 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2007 its really an improvement but i would change the background color to something different because its simply too much blue. or try making the background a little bit darker or brighter... maybe it helps

BooZker 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 ok dreamer i will try out some various colors. Maybe some grays, blues, maybe even orange. I might add a gradient, but that might not work because of the lengthy tutorials sometimes.
caos dreamer 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 dunno if it looks good but you could try a grey-blue background with sime decent orange borders ge give some fixpoints for the eyes of you visitors
darran 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 I think it is a very clean look but there are definitely somethings to be improved on. You have a blue banner and a blue background, there isn't much contrast in that. It would definitely help if you can seperate the header and the background, looks much more pleasing to the user as well. The font can be improved as well:'Tutorials written by: BooZker' the following text is using a Courier font if I am not wrong. That is a definite no no in websites, in programming codes, yes maybe but definitely not as a particular font for a certain text. Lastly, the Boozker Windows Tweaks is blending in a little too much with the banner for my liking. It would be better if you tried having a little brighter color for your text. Other than that, your website design is fine
BooZker 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2007 Well my courier look was supposed to look like a typewriter. But if people dont like it i can change it very easily. What should i change it to? I want it to be somewhat different though from the others so they can see the tutorial credits and they dont blend in with the tutorial text. The background is being changed. I am trying lots of different variations. I will let you know what i choose.Lastly header i am also looking at variations. Some upcoming updates to the site though is RSS and a comment and rating system which me and rvalkass are working on.
darran 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2007 Hmmm ... I suppose you could use maybe 10 pt Arial or somethign like that? The courier text just doesn't look like a fitting ending to each entry of your tutorials at all. I like the new combination on the background, it really helps to distinguish between what is the content and background. Good job mate!A RSS would be good, helps people like me who makes use of RSS to keep track of the latest updates to blogs. Just some questions though: How do you create RSS for your site? I have always been fascinated as to how this RSS feed is created to dynamically track your latest entries. What CMS are you using? It doesn't look like you are using Wordpress. BooZker 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2007 Darran...If you want to know how to make one email me (email in my profile) and i'll write up a whole explanation. RSS is very easy if you know HTML. If you email me, tell me how the tutorial was and if its good i'll post it in the Tutorials section on this site.I dont use a generator or anything i simply write it up. Not hard. It's mostly copy and paste. But for what code editor i use, i use BBedit 8.6 and Fetch for my FTP. That's on my mac. On my Windows i use Dreamweaver 8. I simply write what i want my viewers to read about on my site and upload the new .rss file then when they want they just look at the subscription to my website and the latest updates and tweaks are on there. I;ll show you when you email me.PS. I CALL DIBS ON THE TUTORIAL FOR RSS/XML
