Caped_Crusaider 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Can you tell me the maximum temperature for an AMD Socket AM2 Athlon 64 dual core 3800+, i know you have stated a AMD Athlon 64 X2 but im not sure if it is the same for all sockets and models or if they differ from socket to socket. PlugComputers 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 I would suspect the temp for the socket AM2 x2's that AMD is making would be a little lower than the 71 C that is listed. I'm not sure, you could try looking it up on google. Is your computer running near this temperature? If its anywhere near 70 C you are sacrificing a ton of performance from your processor, definatly want to get some more efficent cooling. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
kdr_98 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2006 Watch out when the CPU get's a temp that's that high it could heat up some other components that are close to the CPU , like memory, HDD, Chipset on the main board , ... It's possible that they can't handle those temperatures and will fail to work.Also watch out for the air that goes into the powersupply if that's to hot the P.S. will fail as well.The best is leave everything at normal temperatures, and cool the system as good as possible.
