kdr_98 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2006 Those drives are not that old , Quantum (later became Maxtor),Made a while such drives because they were faster then the 3 1/2 drives.But they are making more noise, take more place in the case , .... Later the speed of the drives went higher because teh rotation speed went to 7200.With a 5 1/4 inch drive 7200 drives doesn't exist , probaly mechanical problems to make them.Compaq used to place those drives in the P3 computers.
