WarFact 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 I would venture to guess that there is no site out there currently that offers free .com domains. I remember a while back NameZero offered free domains, but since have started charging. I could be wrong in my thinking but I haven't seen another one out there. Sorry I can't help you there! Tetraca 0 Report post Posted June 16, 2006 There are no sites that offer free .com names. You can however get other domains for free - http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ gives you .tk domains for free and http://freedns.afraid.org/ gives you very authentic looking domains, but your site will really be on a subdomain - us.to and uk.to come to mind. The free .be domain is not offered anymore.
CarlU 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 You can get domains for under $10!So I am assuming you don't have a credit card...well, you could just ask your parents, if they don't trust the idea of putting their credit card number on the internet then look for a Domain host which accepts Direct Deposit or Bank Cheque. Hadi 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 You can go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ they will offer a deal on making some things like subscribing to free services etc... and they will give you points, then you could trade a certain number of points for a domain. You can get free domain like .co.nr or .co.r or .fr.tt or .us.tt and lots of other choices with no ads or frames.
arnz 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2006 I probably suggest a free domain redirect like co.nr or so, as I personally cannot find any services that provides a free .com domain. But still even if they was, it would usually be the conditions (ie posting, permission, or something that would have to be met before doing so), or either its one of them untrustworthy schemes. All I can say is be careful in that case.

I don't think that ezyrewards offers .co.nr or .co.r domain names since those are subdmains that are offered free on a regular basis. They do offer a free .info domain name for one year, but after the one year you must resubscribe your domain name which may be very frustrating! But anyway all you need is about 350 points for a .info name which is very easy to achieve!!!

vujsa 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2006 Well, I wasn't able to find any decent free domain name systems but I did manage to find a referal / offer company that gave away credit vouchers for a small domain registrar company. Basically once you earned enough credits, you could redeem them for a certificate that was for a dollar amount equal to the amount of a .com registration at that site. The registrar is Optinom the referal company is difficult to earn credit through though. I redeemed a voucher for a HANDYPHP.COM. An best of all because bought the domain name using a voucher, the name is mine. I can transfer it whenever I choose and have full access to every aspect of my domain name. Will probably transfer to GoDaddy next year when it is time to renew. I'm sorry, I cannot post the link to the service in the forums. I don't mind requests for such information in a PM as I don't think that violates the TOS, AUP, or forum rules.
