What Is A Self-sustaining Source

Recommended Posts

This question has been boggling me for quite a while, what can be used as a safe self-sustaining power source ( Meaning it has the ability to make energy but doesnt take in energy, it just uses what it created to work again)

i heard it defys physics, but of course a lot of things do.

What you are referring to is a perpetual motion machine. Theoretically it is a device the produces as much energy as it consumes. So if there were to be such a device it would be able to run forever. But there is no such thing as a perpetual motion machine. To build a perpetual motion device you would need at least 100% efficiency. If it is not at least 100% efficient it would have to defy the conservation of energy law which states that the total amount of energy in a closed system remains constant. Many people have claimed they built one but the scientific community has never been able to verify such a device.
