Vintage Ads Or Images

does anyone have an idea where i can find vintage ads for free? i'm having a hard time searching for those that are free, i only see those that are being sold. or if not, do you know how to make an image look more like vintage using image editors like photoshop or gimp. i'm using vintage as my theme for my layout and i'm kinda scrambling because i have to finish it soon.

What definition are you using for 'vintage'? Do you mean like an antique look with curled edges and a 'hazy' look to it? or more like vintage as in the '37 Chevy was a 'vintage' Automobile?

i think it's the former. but i think any will do. i need a lot of images so i could pick something that i could use.

You can find a very extensive collection of public domain vintage videos (lots of public service announcements and ads) at https://archive.org/ when you search under the Prelinger Archives. It's an amazing resource. If you need still photos, you can also grab individual frames from the videos.

for images you already have, which you want to convert to have a vintage "feel", you can have them sepia-toned in photoshop or any other graphic editor. there's a lot of tutorials online on this, but here's a quick one for you which will hopefully start you going:
