anarchyboard88 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2006 Ok, so ive been looking to get away from Norton SystemWorks and ive been hearing a good alternative to software securities is a hardware device called AlphaShield. its completely plug-and-play which doesnt sound all that great because of IRQ conflicts and whatnot, but it guarentees great things.. their site http://www.alphashield.com/ promises quite a bit as far as securty. invisiblity to hacking, good worm protections, blocks all non-essential ports by default. the only real downfall is that it cant be altered or configured that much because it is a standalone device. it does seem alot less messy than norton or McAfee.. it wont take up harddisk space nor clutter things, and it wont slow down your comp.. seems worth it?.. anyone have any other opinions??
