Milovoriel 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 Does anyone know if/where I can get a free script for tracking direct/hot linkers? ..... so I can leave a "theft" graphic in place of the image they've hot linked ....
mayank 2 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 Well what you can do is..you can go to your CPANEL and then go to HOTLINK PROTECTION under Site Management Tools.Over there specify the domains to which you allow the hotlinking and that will help you protect your images from being hotlinked.I hope this solves your problem. Milovoriel 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 thanx .... I've now done that .... however, I've then gone on to a site that will check my hot link protection ..... it only seems to work if I first clear my temporary internet files cache .... then my replacement anti-theft image shows up .... but does that mean that despite having the hotlink protection that visitors will still be able to hotlink my graphics from my temp files cache? Inspiron 0 Report post Posted December 12, 2005 Huh...? Your temp cache files are stored on your computer.. So your visitors won't visit your temp cache.. However if they had visited your site before you set up the hotlink protection, they might be able to "hotlink" still because it's still in their cache.. It will not last long however. Eventually no one can hotlink your resources.. So rest assured..
