Grid Computing Distributed Computing

Recommended Posts

Driven by increasingly complex problems and propelled by increasingly powerful technology, today's science & businessesworld is as much based on computation, data analysis, and collaboration. But even as computer power, data storage, and
communication continue to improve exponentially, computational resources are failing to keep up with what users demand of
them. What many term the "Grid" offers a potential means of surmounting these obstacles to progress. Grid computing is
increasingly being viewed as the next phase of distributed computing. Built on pervasive Internet standards, grid computing
enables organizations to share computing and information resources across department and organizational boundaries in a secure,
highly efficient manner.
