Recommended Posts

What is mesothelioma?

Mesothelioma is a malignant cancer. There are two types. One is pleural mesothelioma where cancer cells are found in the lung's pleural sac (picture: ). Symptoms of pleural mesothelioma include shortness of breath and chest pains (because it occurs in the chest). The other type is peritoneal mesothelioma where cancer cells are found in the peritoneum lining of the abdominal cavity (picture: ). Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma include abdominal pains and weight loss.

How do you get mesothelioma?

You might have mesothelioma is you have worked in a job where you breathe asbestos. Prolonged exposure were found in almost all the mesothelioma cases. Will you starting experiencing symptoms if you breathe a lot of asbestos? No. Symptoms may take as long as 30 to 50 years to appear. Once you get it, treatment depends on a lot of things including stage of mesothelioma (how long has it been since you got it), location of the cancer cells, and age.

So why are mesothelioma ads so popular?

Mesothelioma ads are popular because the people who worked with asbestos think they have it, so they contact their lawyer of attorney to sue their workplace. The lawyers end up making thousands of dollars from such cases. By promoting mesothelioma awareness all over the web (putting out ads), the lawyer can get more clients, so they can make even more money. The higher the ad price, the more mesothelioma patients they get.

Everyone is trying to make money off disaters, deasease, and every other good cause there is out there. It just sickens me that people take advantage of stuff like this just to put some extra money in their pocket. The people who actually are trying to help out you are doing a great job for society.
