mizako 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2004 Hi, I am writing a new thread because the "X does not start" thread was really unconfortable to user due to the width of my first post. My X start as root but not as a normal user. I was googling and i read that i should edit my /etc/X11/Xserver file but i do not have this file there. Does anyone uses Debian and knows where this file is?. However i am still not able to startkde. It continues giving the same error "X does not start thread". Does anyone where are the logs of kde? I only found XFree86.log and kdm.log under the /var/log directory. Can anyone help me?Thanks in advanced,Sergio
pbrugge 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2004 Look in the output of "dmesg" if you see any errors since normaly if you can gain access to X with root it should work for a normal usser to.Or upload the output of "dmesg"somewhere and post a link here so we can see what is going wrong.
