LeAnn Rimes My Angel 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2005 Here's the situations... (1) Using IE 6, I must first visit http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and enter my password and login name, then it takes me to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ . I cannot simply go to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ otherwise I get an error [try it out to see]. Is this normal? (2) How are FTP accounts deleted? I don't see an option for that anywhere. (3) I uploaded phpBB 2.0.15 to the FTP, but once I go to the link to begin the installation, it gives the "Not Found" error... Not Found The requested URL /phpBB2/ was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. I have installed phpBB before, if you're wondering. It should start the installaion once the files have been transfered. I also tried going right to the install.php file, but it didn't work... Not Found The requested URL /phpBB2/install/install.php was not found on this server. Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. Apache/1.3.33 Server at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ Port 80 Those are the only problems I'm having so far. Any assistance, suggestions or ideas would be great. P.S. I have currently removed phpBB 2.0.15 from my site for secruity reasons, so anyone trying the link will be unable to access it at this time. Thanks.
snlildude87 0 Report post Posted June 2, 2005 I can try to answer a few of your questions. Number 2. Go to your cpanel at http://yoursite.trap17.com/cpanel. Change yoursite to the name the prefixes .trap17.com. You chose this when you created your account. Now, find FTP Manager in that big list. You should be able to guide yourself through in the rest as it's fairly easy. Number 3. Did you upload the folder phpBB2 to a folder called public_html? All your files must go into public_html. Good luck!

All your files must go into public_html. 147039[/snapback] Ok, I put the phpBB2 (phpBB 2.0.15) into the public_html folder, and tried to install it, but I got a HTTP 404 Not Found page error. Shadow 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2005 1)Well for the ftp error, it isn't an error, i get that too, all you have to do is click file --> log-in as.. that should fix that. 2)The only way you can delete an ftp account is if you created it, if it was there when you got your hosting, then you cant delete it 3)are you sure you are entering the right folder name in the address bar? maybe you named it "forums" or something? and like snlildude said, are you sure you uploaded in the public_html folder, and NOT with the public_html folder? hope this helps!
