Taiwan belongs to China

Recommended Posts

fair enoughWhen i was in china a couple of years ago there was so much diversity! - from the modern and in many ways western scenario played out in peking, to the much more traditional situations closer to the mongolian borders. I also noticed an increasing mix of communism and capitalism.Russia also had a similar situation - from the rural areas near lake baikal, to the increasingly western citys of moscow and st petersburg, the many who were fiercely opposed to communism along side the many remaining communists. I walked in a rural area with a guide past some nice houses - to which my guide genuinely responded by saying they were all owned by people affiliated with either the government or the kgb.Its strange how russia and china - two huge landmasses and populations, can hold so much diversity under one single system. That single system cannot please everyone - but a system is needed or things degenerate into anarchy.

I disagree. Everyone deserves their own country. It's not Chinese people who should decide this, but the Taiwanese people itself.

Just make a referendum; if the majority Taiwanese people vote for independance, than it would be very rude to disallow them to have their own country. But if most people vote for China, then it will stay there. I hope you all agree with this.

I live in Belgium and I love the European Union. It brings countries together and unifies them (not enough, but that's an other story). But every country has the right to join or to leave, and you can't force it, no matter how big you are, and that's the difference!

unfortunately it is not about the people of Taiwan or the people of China for that matter. It is merely a political and diplomatic battle between two governments. Looking back at the history of Taiwan doesn't give you much either. Many different countries have ruled Taiwan( China, Japan, even Holland), which doesn't give them any conclusion. Education and infrastructure are well developed in Taiwan, in China just in a few areas. As always it is about power and money.... Who do you think should get it?

You know what? I have a few Taiwanese friends here in Florida, they definately deserver their own country. Look at how Taiwan has prospered, it's become one of the asian tigers, along with South Korea and other Asian countries.Taiwan has become a great industry, economic wealth, an outpost of western society. They deserve to be free from the tyranny of the socialist Chinese government, who's economy is based on heavy polluting industries. Taiwan deserves to be it's own country, as it is right now, and if China invaded Taiwan, you can bet other countries would respond to help Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Australia, to name a few (well if they know what's right they would).Kevin Cho - Pioneer Audio Productions General Manager

If you think the EU is always sticking their noses in your affairs: remember you are a big member of the European Union! If you don't like what we're doing, then just leave the EU and try it on yourself. But not all people in the UK think like that. And there is a big chance that the Euro will replace the USD as the world currency in 10-20 years.
