[NP] Free .info domains tutorial

Recommended Posts

[NP] - n00b pr00f #2 - Free .info domain name

That's right people, I've made a n00b pr00f tutorial on how to get FREE .info domains. They are free for 1 year and work great!

In order to get your free .info domains, you first must create a support account with http://www.1dni.com/ . This is the site that is giving away the free domains. http://www.1dni.com/cgi-bin/support_signup.cgi is

the direct link to sign up for a support account. It's a simple form you must fill out, do it.

After that, check your email for a confirmation link. Some email addresses will filter the 1dni email to spam, make sure you check your spam folder and make sure it wasn't sent there.

Now that you have a support account, you need to request an RIN# to be used in place of your CC#. Simply send an email to support@1dni.com requesting a free RIN#. It's that easy. Include your Real name, email address, and username in this email. This information was already given by you on signup, I hope you didn't forget! After you send this email you will get an auto response saying that a support something was added, just ignore it and wait for you RIN# to come. After the email is sent, you must simply wait for a reply. Once the reply comes with your RIN#, you can go and get your domains!

Go to http://www.1dni.com/free-info.htm. There you should see this

Limited Time Offer: Register up to 25 FREE dot info names for one year. Consider the additional traffic and exposure this could provide! Limit one year per domain name, additional years are $ 19.95 each. No obligation!

1dni.com is pleased to offer YOU 25 FREE .info Domain Names. To take advantage of this Exceptional Deal, simply use the search box below to search for up to 25 .info domain names.

Existing Clients have already been sent their Free RIN? to use during the registration process of their .info Domain Names.

If you have not received a free RIN [used instead of a credit card] then please contact support.

Please note: Max 25 domains per client.

And after this, there is a list of places for you to enter your domains you would like.

1. Enter the domains you want.

2. Press the Check Availability button

Then, another page should load that looks like this

1. Check the boxes for the domains you want

2. Click the Submit Domain button

After that, a screen should load that looks like this

Ignore all the stuff above what is depicted

1. Ensure that the new client check is selected

2. Enter the username you have entered earlier, the password, and confirm the password.

3. Click next.

Next a screen will come up asking for all your billing info and such.

I lied about most of this stuff, but it is up to you.

Now at the bottom where it asks for a Credit Card Number,

Simply enter the RIN# that you were emailed in place of the credit card number.

After that a screen will come up saying "Click here to confirm your charge of X amount of dollars" Just click that and your account should be verified. You will get anywhere from 2 - 25 emails from 1dni telling you about your domain you just registered.

The confirmation can take anywhere from 24-72 hours after you have registered your domain, be patient and you will have your .info domain(s) .

If you have any questions, post them here. Also, remember to be patient. Don't go posting questions here if you don't get your replies right away. It might take time. Also remember that after you register your .info domain, it's gone in one year, and they charge out of the *bottom* for you to renew it.

What's the use? It'll be over after 1 year and then you will lose all your visitors. Better to use a uni.cc free domain name. It looks and workes like a registered domain name after you set up the DNS to point to your servers.

Hmm....I'm wondering. What happens if you don't select "new user", but use the RIN# with your existing account (the one you created at the beginning)? And if you register some domains with the RIN#, can you use it (the RIN#) again to register another domains?Did anyone try this?

You can use the RIN# for a very short amount of time. If you register 5, you can register 20 more with the same RIN# but it will expire fast, like a week. Thanks for the sticky, whoever did it :D
