Hey ma and pa,
This poem goes out to ya.
Though sometimes I may act in rage,
You must understand am a man of age,
& it certainly does not help to stay within your cage.
I love the two of you and you know it,
But I hate the extent to which you two explore it.
I just don’t understand what it is with our mothers,
The love and respect they are due should go to no other.
They despise the woman, over whom we are passionate,
Are we their sons or husbands that we cannot intimately with another woman associate?
Dad, you say you are my friend,
But with you is like living in a lion’s den.
You happen to compare me with the kids around,
About these kids, I wish your knowledge was sound,
Btw I am no kid and that is reality at its ground.
I may be your only child
But I am made as per God’s style,
Why don’t you two come to terms with that for a while?
I pray that I may grow in loving you two with respect,
But I am sorry for not becoming what you did expect.
