  1. The latest in the 802.11 series.Still in a development stage and expected to be available by the end of this year and popular by mid 2013.New features are included in this version of wireless LAN like larger channel bandwidth, higher modulation schemes and MIMO.We already have 4 versions of 802.11 namely:-802.11a - Frequency of 5 GHz and 54mbps bandwidth. High frequency leading to a shorter range. So one can expect it to operate at fast maximum speed. But bears a high cost.802.11b- Frequency of 2.4 GHz and 11mbps of bandwidth. It has a relatively low cost.802.11g- The most popular one in the 802.11x series with the cost and range of 802.11b. Provides a data rate of up to 150 mbps.802.11n- not yet a finalized standard but offers the best maximum speed and range.
