I am trying to build a small form to keep track of player progression for a game. I want to then put that progression on the a guild website. I have already determined the look, but have not been able to successfully add any type of interactivity, and or dynamic feel to the site and form. What I would like is simple, to be able to add stats on a daily basis without having to recode the HTML.Have those stats to bee added automatically when changed, so that I can keep track of progress.I will post the site and it should be easy to see what I am trying to acomplish, but lack the programing skill to know where to move from here. I am playing with javascript, but I am not sure if I am going in the right direction. This is the site http://tfd.guildlaunch.com/?gid=112099&kr=A+Valid+Page+ID+is+required.Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Thanks for yoru help bu tI was able to figure out much better way to this then table and with CSS which is what I was looking for Since I am new at this please forgive me if my questions sound newbish, an denglish is not my first language to sometimes what I type makes little sense :PBut the code I was looking for in CSS was flaot and with it I was able to create, header, right, left and center colum with all different properties. This allowed me to create a header that took 100% of the top of the page width, and then the body to be split into 3 collums although thanks for all the help. I;m sure that more questions will come soon

I am teaching myself how to create a webpage. I find this very fun and learning alot. But now I find myself in a particular spot where I can solve the issue in many different ways, but am not sure which is the best to proceed. I am creating the webpage, but find mysefl not sure how to create the webpage layout. I can do it by placing raw HTML data, and create a table on each page, although I don;t think this is the best way to do this. I also been looking at frameset, and iframe, although I find that this requires alot of coding on each individual page. What I Would like to know really is this possible to use CSS to create the frame layout of the page. as a template. If this is possible, could some one get me a link to a site or an example that I could use to learn from. Right now most of my learning been right off teh W3school website, been great, but not to clear on this issue which way is best to proceed. Thanks for any help

Since I have been looking to add a new server to my household I have been introduced to virtual machines. However there was a question that I could not get a clear answer from.I know that win XP 32bit version has a RAM limit of 4gb, going over would be useless even if the PC has 8gb it doesn't increase speed. However if I install a virtual machine will it share the RAM within the limit of the host machine, or can it take advantage of the full RAM available? This could fall in the same category, I got Linux on a usb boot disk, and when I boot a PC I boot right off the usb stick. The operating system instead of running off the hard drive, it will save itself in the RAM. This gives it a massive speed boost. So question would be. Would it use the full 8gb of RAM, or would it limit itself to 4gb like windows?

Hi I am a new Linux user, only about 3 days now, never used it before. Here is what I am trying to do and hopefully get a few questions answered. I have been readin alot about Linux, and well, I would learn one thing and it would open up 2 new questions. So by the end of the day I was left with a head ache, and a computer on teh verge of being smashed...lol What I aspire to do. I want to run a home server, the purpose of this server would be to save all our family pictures, videos. Have a common directory where I can save all of our movies, music, and miscellaneous other types of files. I want this so that it can be accessed anywhere on our home network. Right now I have it setup with external Hard drives attached via USB to some of the PCs on the network, using shared folders. Although this method is working there are some complications that I find with this that I would like to solve with a server. 1.) The files tend to be all over the place, I have 2 1tb drives, with 2 250gb drives. I have everyone saving files all over the place and well things are messy, and get lost in the family wasteland of files. 2.) I find that when watching movies over the network they tend to be slow. I find that movies tend to be choppy and that the buffer is never able to keep up with the movie itself. So half way thrue the movie we get a 5 minute family break, and a 15 minute rewind in the movie. 3.) Backup is a nightmare, I find myself backing up duplicates, and well a waste a lot of disk space on things that are already backup 3 or 4 times. What I have planned I want to be able to place all of those different external hard drives to rest and place all disk space on the server. Once this is done it will make it much easier to map the family files to a single drive rather then have 6 or 7 that we have now. This will make it easier to backup and maintain (well from what understand thus far about computers) What Hard I have at the moment. Before I will commit too much income to this project I want to trying on a smaller scale and learn how it works. I made a small Frankenstein computer from my older computers. 3tb hard drive (2x1.5tb) Asus board (p5p800-vm) 4gb RAM (DDR RAM 533) Now for the actual questions. Which Linux should I go with if I want to run a small home server? I checked this on the internet, for a clear answer and I cannot find any real answer. I can find different modules that some of the linux have, but nothing that really helps me or answer my question clearly for what I need. does Linux have a ram limit like windows? I know that windows 32 it version only have 4gb ram limit. Is this the case also for Linux? Any advice that anyone could have please, let me know. If I am way off with what I want to do please let me know, I am relatively new to networking and have little experience with servers in general. Thanks

I think this is a little harsh, how about we remove the justice system, no more judges, trials, lawyers (I kinda like that one though), or justice system of any kind. I mean lets be jury, judge executioner, like the old days. Back then everybody had equal rights...unless you were a women, poor, non white, non christian, and didn't believe in guns. If you weren't in any of those categories then you where just fine in society.....uhmm no. First of all death penalty is for those that deserve it, and even then, how can you condemd some one to death, by killing yourself, (an entire other issue I won't get into). What it comes down to is circumstance, and asking a very simple question, What is rape? sound stupid (I'm sure now you saying what kinda of stupid question is this you are asking me, of course I know what rape is.) Truth be told...its not that simple. Here are some good example, and tell what is rape and what is not. Example 1.) Man breaks into a womens house rapes, beats her, and leaves her for dead. Example 2.) Man and a women are at party together both get drunk, both wake up in the same bed the next day, women says that she was raped to the authorities. Example 3.) 21 year old man has sex with a 17 year old women, parents find out, and charge the man with rape. Example 4.)21 year old man in a club, meets a women, next day to find out she is only 16. Now I know the first one is an easy one, but the other 3 are a little harder to determine, in fact I bet if I would to put a poll, that it would vary quite a bit. Would all 4 man deserve death?, what if we replaced the man in the 4 example with women would that change the circumstance? Now I'll take it a step farther, what if the man in the first example was forced to perform this against his will...would this change anything? I can think of many reason how someone could be forced to do something they would never dream of doing, but are forced too. Or what if I told you that in example 3 the 21 year old man that was with the 17 year old women, stayed together and got married and had many children, would that change anything? Basically what I am saying is simple, we cannot give out justice without knowing the facts, this is simple, in fact the very meaning of justice is to punish the offender according to his offense in a manner that fair to there offense. I am by no means defending does that commit this cruel act. I personally would agree that we are too lenient on people that commit this act, and that we should be more aggressive towards those that do this more time, and more time to serve the community, and more supervision. But outright death.... The 4 circumstances are rape by law in todays standards, however all 4 examples can would have very different results of punishment for the offender. **my 2 cents anyway ** Edited**

I am not by any means close to being good at 3d modeling. But thi sprogram I have to say has been great. I only use the free version, but it has been fun. I use to build house planning, ship design for some of my online games. Although I know it can do alot more then what I use it for, just not that good with it yet. I have to say that it has been a solid, easy to use application, with a right price...free:) I actually found myself thinking if I should get the 500$ version, I have been nothing but impressed with this program

Welcome to the aboard. I know here you will find a lot of information. I have been here only a couple of days and have many responses to my introduction, and already found a lot of helpful information to help me.What I would recommend is to look at the forums and help others if you can. If you already run a server I;m sure there is some stuff that you know that's others would love to get some help with, this would get you help a lot quicker :angel:Good luck, and I;ll keep an eye out for your post and if I can either help or answer I'll make sure to do so

I would like to introduce myself, my name is Demo and I am, and hope to be a video game designer (one day)I have limited experience with programing, graphic design, and well computers in general Although I am working hard to learn. For the past 2 years I have taught myself, HTML, JavaScript, and some using Microsoft Applications, such as excel, word, and MS Access. For the Graphic design I have used all kinds of applications bu so far only 1 has been able to keep interested and that is google sketchup.I hope one day to design and program and host a real top of the line MMORPG that is free, simple to play, and has 100% players involvement in the story line. I never want to hear that this is not possible, nothing is impossible if you truly want it :PI have hosted some websites in the past, but mostly static web pages using HTML, bu thave been exploring other avenues to make my pages more interesting and interactive. What I am working to learn, right now I am trying to understand PHP, MySQL, and Flash, although they are still very foreign to me, but working on it.So then now that you know my ambitions, the simple question is why after 2 years I still dont know that much Well unfortunatly time is not on my side. Although now I have a job that allows me to go online, I ususally don;t have that much time to learn, usually 10 minutes there 10 minutes here, it takes time, not impossible, but does take time. Although I can say this I am determined. At home I have a beautiful little boy, and loving wife, that well...just wont let me stay on teh computer long enough  although I don;t mind to much.I am an avid gamer, D&D for almost 20 years, playing since the original nintendo, and play all kinds of MMO, and other types of games online.I hope to be meeting some new people on here usually small communities like this are great place to meet new people with same interest. looking forward to hearing from you all
