I have to agree with you on the thread hijaking thing. But I'd like to disagree with some of the points you've stated here, let's go: Er, but if you look at the trail of evidence you'll see just how insecure, useless, standards-incompliant, and over-all disguisting Internet Explorer is when you have all these other more viable alternatives, one can only question your level of intelligence on the grounds of why someone would submit to that kind of torture simply because they trust the brand "Microsoft". I personally use FireFox, but I know there are other alternatives that do just as well. I just recognize that Internet Explorer isn't one of them. Let's see, Lynx, links2, Konqueror, Galeon, Opera, Safari (if you have a Mac), etc, Point is, IE sucks, and I hijacked your thread. Seriously though, thread hijaking = wrong Ranting because people like FireFox so much = wrong Ranting because you dissagree with thread hijaking = whatever rocks your cradle I don't know if people are actually randomly dropping into conversations with "FF RULZ!" though. If FireFox comes up as a topic of discussion in any given thread, is there not the possibility that it's someone's genuine input to the original thread, or that the conversation seemed to have flowed in that direction? I really doubt someone would randomly join a thread about baking cookies and go, "GET FIREFOX! IE SUCKS!"

Any Of You Guys Listen To Linkin Park? crap MTV
templest replied to kvarnerexpress's topic in Art & Creativity
I used to listen to Linkin Park, but then a grew a penis. Not that I recommend categorizing yourself in to any, and cliche, stereo-type of music listener, I'd recommend listening to "Tool" over "Linkin Park" anyday. Personally, I listen to everything. And lots of artists you'll probably never hear about, that make lots of better music than the crap the American Marketing Machine can throw at you. Linkin Park is no less than Britney Spears or Jay Z. It's all the same *BLEEP*. Music with no substance, no real lyrics; it's all marketing. Rarely does a good band appear in the mainstream media as an original and stay that way. Like Korn, they were amazing. Keyword: were. Until money clouded their musical nature and made them come out with a train-wreck of a new album, only to make more money. If you think Linkin Park is ground-breaking, intuative, and the pinnacle of rock musical acts, then you seriously have to re-evaluate what you get out of life. The only real musical talent in that group is Mr. Hahn. Good record label to start off with: http://ninjatune.net/home -
This will never happen, and if it does, it'll be no more better than Geocities with a gigabyte of storage. Why? Google makes it's revenue from advertising. Automagically, lots of "serious" websites would not want advertisements on their site that aren't put their by themselves. Think about geocities. Would you use it for a respectable website? Would you use it for a respectable website if it was the exact same thing with a gigabyte of storage? No. That's the awsome part of Xisto. No ads on the hosted sites, it relies on the community that uses it to support it; which makes it completely self-reliant, and thus, stable (financially). Believe it or not, Xisto is better than lots of paid hosting accounts. Have you seen package #3? I've seen people sell those packages for $150 a month, and those companies are still in buisness. This is what a free webhost should be like, not some cheap anglefire site.

You're all missing the point. Apple's never sold a computer for lower than $1000 dollars. This is a huge step, ie: starting to get into the sub $500 PC market. This could get them some hardcore market-share. Since there are so many people I know that would shoot their mom's to get a mac but they cost too much, I can easily see at least 20 people I know jumping at the opportunity to get ones of these little buggers.Hell I might even get one, just to play around with. I already have a PowerBook, but I wouldn't mind having a desktop.

Who the hell are these people saying stupid things and PMing me for no good f*cking reason? First the moderators are trying to ban me from the forums, and now people who have no administrative rights on the site what-so-ever, but instead are little weenie nubes who's status complements their attitude (note: "Novice"), trying to threaten me? Oh, you really must be new around here, eh? Anyways, yeah, why the hell does everyone thing they have beef with me? People I don't even know want to start something, heh, idiots.

This is webhosting, not free shell accounts. Go here for those: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

I use Gmail and my own eMail (from the hosted space). Hotmail is horrible for many reasons. One, they delte your account if you don't log on for too long. They have advertisements all over the place. Only 3 MBs of space, although I did get recently upgraded to 250Mbs. They don't let attachments bigger than 10 MBs. The list goes on. But what I'm saying is that "free" email service providers are really not worth it. You either get your own email server (like, for example the one I'm using on Xisto), or you get a paid host, or some other, good, free provider. Gmail is free and awsome. So, I dunno. I only use my hotmail account for signing up for websites, because I don't want my real accounts being spammed.

People Against The War And The Soliders I HATE THEM
templest replied to --Stealth--'s topic in The Vent
Losing the war ***** a country over, granted. Winning the war, makes billions, might I say, trillions? I think you watch too much Fox news. I recommend watching the documentary: "The Corporation". http://www.thecorporation.com/ Capitalism is destroying our world. If you can't see that, you really aren't smart. [Note from Zenchi: Please don't use odd letters to get around filters. They're in there for a reason.] -
Feminism is sexism in action. Sexism against men, women wanting to make us their b?tches. If you can't make that connection, well, you're more ignorant than I though. Again, words are offensive depending on their use. It depends on what context I was called a dog. If someone called me a dog because I have sex every night, have everything I'd ever need, and willfully speak my mind no matter what others think, then I'd take it as a compliment. If I called a girl a "chick" because I considered here a cute, cuddly person that I want to hold and take care of, then, that's a compliment in itself. Catch my drift?

There's no such things as time. There is only now. I thought Einstein proved that one. "Theory of Relativity" anyone?

KERRY SUCKS! LIES LIES TELL AMERICA SWEET LITTLE lies
templest replied to sportzdawg's topic in The Vent
Politics is bull sh?t. It doesn't matter who you pick for president anyways, because you know, it's the corporations that run the f?cking country. He's their little monkey boy. The night any president gets ellected, he willfully drops his pants, bends over, and lets the *bottom* f?cking begin. Why do you think they shot Kenedy? The only good president ever.Get the point? -
You know, I have one thing to say to you. Just one. Nothing else. After this, you can lecture us aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall you want. Ready? Here goes: Jesus. Allow me to elaborate. Your entire belief system is built on this man's words. Right? Right. If he never said anything bad about anyone, then why did everyone want to kill him? I don't know, maybe it's just me. But I don't think an entire nation would vote to crusify you, if they have no beef against you. Maybe it was the whole tossing over the vendor's booths in front of the church. Maybe it was the calling of them hyppocrites (cast the first stone?). Maybe it was the whole "Give away all your wordly possesions or God will burn you in hell for eternity because he loves you" deal. I don't know, maybe it's just me. If I told you I was God's son and asked you to become poor and to let me wash your feet, would you go: "Yes, Messiah!"

You got it all wrong. Women don't want equality, they want superiority.

Why waste your energy on something so inane? Just ignore them entirely. Don't even budge, keep doing what you where doing.

I encourage everyone to read this article pertaining to the issue. I would try to write it out myself, and have in several occasions. But I feel this guy says it more articulately and much more imformatively than I do. So here you go: http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=feminazi Everything said in that article, I agree with. If you don't, you're just whipped. Please commit suicide, or grow a penis.

I hate Christian Evangelists. Why do people think that saying any word is offensive? Honestly, saying: "Gee willies! I seem to have made a booboo on my thumb with the hammer by accident!" is no more different than saying: "God-DAMNIT! I HIT MY THUMB WITH THE Hammer! " You see, there is no difference. Both sentence, literally, mean the same thing. So why should it matter what taste for words you happen to acquire? Different words are used to accentuate various parts in a sentence, to give it flavour, meaning, and in quaint-terms, a soul. You can feel the anger in a person when they let out a loud, resonating "****!? as opposed to when they say in a bland and generic manner: ?Oh, poo!? I hate it when people use the always-popular: ?Well, people that cuss is because they don?t have a big enough vocabulary to use more articulate words!? My theory, is that limiting your vocabulary to certain words is ridiculous and completely undermines your entire theory of having a larger vocabulary. Why? Because I know all the words you know, and I don?t have a limitation on which words I can express myself with. So, stop harassing us every time we express ourselves using a certain choice of vocabulary. Do you want to know why not using every word available to you makes you unpopular? It doesn?t, you?re a moron. I know some people that have never in their entire existence used a word that you would classify as ?un-intelligent?, but at the same time, these people are actually smart, and understand that these words aren?t offensive, they just don?t feel comfortable using them, but that?s their choice, and they don?t hold that against me. You know what one should really be worried about? These maggot puritans that think that removing from the planet everything that ?God? says is wrong will bring peace and harmony to the world. Guess what, its Human nature! You can?t get rid of it, and if you do, people will still think the same things, they just won?t express themselves! Go do some shrooms, do some weed, squeegee clean your third eye, then come talk to me about your religious beliefs. Religion was invented so that we could have a way of dying with dignity, instead of screaming like mad when you knew you where going to die. Learn this, there is no such thing as death. If you don?t understand this, don?t bother replying to me with a retort. If you don?t understand the scientific proof that there is no such thing as death. I hate Christian Evangelists.

Firefox 1.0 here. You see, there is no damn reason to use IE6 aside from WindowsUpdate. Want to know why? ActiveX. That should be your biggest reason for avoiding Internet Explorer. And no matter how many boxes you tick off telling it to disable it, it'll never happen. For anyone that doesn't know, ActiveX lets websites have direct access to the system and it's resources (mainly created for WindowsUpdate, of course. So that the website could patch your system.) But it can be just as easily used to setup a trojan or a virus on your box. Any website that uses ActiveX is outdated and useless anyways. IE doesn't even render lots of pages correctly, while FireFox is completely standard compliant. Not to mention it's worked on (and thus updated) far more often than IE. As I recall, IE stopped developing Internet Explorer since the release of WindowsXP, and stated that it would only patch bugs for it, but no longer develop for it (ie: new features, ect). It doesn't even support tabbed browsing, a decent download manager, no plugin support, bookmarks are handled horribly compared to how firefox does it, the search feature for firefox is much more useful and efficient. Overall, firefox pwnz Internet Explorer. In short: There's no reason to use Internet Explorer aside from updating windows. And not even then if you enable auto-updates. If you do, it's because you're a lazy *bottom* that doesn't want to bother looking for something better and are willingly accepting sucking satan's c?ck because you think that since microsoft is a bigger company, that it makes better products. In fact, I won't even try to convince you people that Firefox is better, all you'll do is polute the support forums with useless and redundant posts after you realize you don't know how to use AdBlock. It's better to keep the good community clear from the idiots.

How could I let it get that bad? Here's a thought: Do you know what sleep is? You know, that thing you do about eight hours a day, when you don't move and have no idea about what's going around you because you're dreaming about having sex with that cute girl you saw at school the other day? Well, that's what I was doing when someone was bombing my site. I'm sure it took a lot less than eight hours to set-up a bot and make accounts on a PhpBB2 forum in droves whilst refreshing a page with a 200KB image on it. My solution? Have the host build some sort of script, where it won't let IPs refresh a page more than twice a minute. Sure, you can refresh different pages, but not the same one. People would still be able to go back to the page, because you'd be using the browser's cache to se the images. But if someone clears the cache and tries to reload the page, it'll just give them a little-red-"x".

Hey! What an awsome idea! Wow! That's such amazing insight! I would have never thought of that! I'll remember to do that, right when my site goes back up again!. Which should be six days from now.

In fact, OpaQue, here's the two emails I recieved, I'm assuming, right before the site ran out of bandwidth. It appears as though someone did intentionally sabotage my website. These two emails clearly show that someone was making account in spam form, and doing something much more than just looking at that picture.
-
Suspend my account because someone is abusing the account? This hardly seems fair. It's not like I'm willfully jacking system resources, someone decided to screw me. Instead of blatantly reciting threats to the members of the service you are providing them with, why not find out how they managed to screw us* and find out a way to stop it, so that other members don't have to be bothered by the same problem? *= I say "us", because they're not just screwing me. Like you said, they did take down my site, and apperantly are disturbing other site's resources. So it's not just me who should be worried about this. And while we're on the subject, a friend registered to me forums and I got a bounce from his ISP saying that it wouldn't accept incoming emails from Xisto.com address', because this server is easily hackable. I quote: "possible root-kit installed". So by the look of things, there's much more bigger issues at hand than banning users for things they did not cause.
-
wtf? So someone screwed over my site by refreshing that page several thousand times, over and over again? Wicked! ;)I need a better hosting plan.

I was supposed to have 1GB of bandwidth, when I went to sleep, I remember just logging out of my cPanel and having consumed ~30MBs. Which isn't even 3% of my total allowed bandwidth. So, did someone find out my FTP password and purposely take down my site, or someone abused the upload feature on the forum and uploaded it to death? (mind you, there was a 2MB upload limit for all accounts, and only 30MBs of the total account space was allocated for uploads. Therefore, someone had to have made 500 accounts and uploaded around 966.66 MBs worth of files in order to do that, which again, is impossible due to the fact that I only have 50MBs of space to work with).I can't help but think some error has occured here.
