  1. I got bored of Windows XP and Windows Vista GUI and I've seen all those Compiz Fuzion screenshots that simply look great . I started off with an Ubuntu on VMWare but after that I did a native installation of OpenSUSE , which in my opinion is the best Linux distro . I also tried the Mac OS X on my PC but because I have an AMD processor it was really hard to get it running (I used the Lawless PPC image) and the drivers are a nightmare . Mac OS X is a Unix based OS so I suppose it's a linux .

  2. HelloI hope this is the right place for this thread . I want to thank to Xisto for their wonderful hosting service and because I have no problems related to hosting . I have a wallpaper site based on 4images gallery system . But my images have high resoultions (1600*1200 ) and when someone enters a wallpaper page , 4images displays the full size image and that too big for a page . Is there any way to display a small image in the wallpaper page and a big image when someone clicks download ? Or could you recommend me a better software ?Thanks in advance .

  3. it's very easy to get a custom build computer . If you haven't got some basic hardware knowledge than you can ask the store you are buying from to assemble it for you . Within your price range you can buy a decent gaming computer that will last for several years . I recommend you a good power supply as the cheap ones broke down very easily and it might harm your other components .

  4. I'm dualbooting Vista with XP for some time , but i'm using Vista Ultimate x86 although I have a CPU that's capable of x64 computing . I have 3 partitions , 1 for XP(40 GB) , 1 for Vista (135 GB) and another one for files (70 GB) . BTW I also have a 250 GB HDD. I installed XP first and created the partitions at that time then I installed Vista and Vista recognized my partitions and i'm booting using the Vista Boot Manager . A more detailed guide is available .http://apcmag.com/how_to_dualboot_vista_with_xp__stepbystep_guide_with_screenshots.htm/

  5. I tried it but I think Virtual Box(https://www.virtualbox.org/) is better and has been always free . Using Virtual PC i had some problems running Ubuntu at a big resolution (1280 x 1024) but with Virtual box , the problem's solved .@martinnovoty: My English is not perfect and I don't fully understand what you mean . It is possible to use already created virtual HDDs at other virtual pcs , but I don't think you can find those virtual HDD on the web .

  6. I played all NFS games in the serie except the first 1 , and i enjoyed most the NFS MW . Carbon was good but too short and I didn't liked the team , plus other sh*ts . The graphics were good , but the autosculp wasn't right and in the aftermarket there weren't many options . I also played Pro Street but it was rubbish so i stopped from playing in the middle of the game . BTW , have you heard about NFS Undercover , the next game in the series ?

  7. You can't compare an integrated graphic card with a dedicated one . I played COD 4 with the following specs and it ran spectacular at 1280*1024 with most settings on high .I have an AMD 64X2 4600+ -2GB DDR2 dual channel -Gainward Nvidia 8600GT GS GLH 256 MB DDR3 625/1800/1400 -250 GB SATA 2 HDDI think my system is just over the recommended one .

  8. @majklisko

    i would throw the pentium 4 away and buy another one...for example one of the core 2 duo...nowadays they are quite cheap and the performance is uncomparable

    Core 2 Duo aren't very expensive , with a fast search on google you can see that his motherboard has a 478 socket that means that it doesn't support core 2 duo .

    @master_ninja

    There's no point to ask you whether your CPU is overclocked or not . If the answer is no , than you should change the cooler .

  9. 8800 is way more expensive than 150 $ if you buy it new . I have an Gainward Nvidia 8600GT Golden Sample Goes Like Hell than has a Core Clock of 625 Mhz / a memory Clock of 1800 Mhz / Shader Clock of 1440 Mhz , that means that is overclocked by the producers . It has a 256 MB DDR3 memory . If you have a motherboard with no PCi Express v2 ports than you'll have to buy a 128 bits video card , which offers less performance . But if you have a good motherboard with PCI Express v2 port than you can buy any video card according to your budget . If you really want to spend a lot of money then you could buy an Nvidia GTX 280 or an 9800GX2 .

  10. One year after the official Vista release , Microsoft is already working on the next Windows operating system , Windows 7 , also known as Blackcomb or Vienna . Windows 7 Milestone 1 Build 6519 , the first working version of windows 7 , has already leaked to the w a r e z community , but it doesn't differs much from Vista . The release is set for late 2009 / 2010 . So what do you think about Windows 7 . Of course that the work on Vista continues , as it's not yet perfect but will soon be.

  11. I ran Vista Ultimate very cleanly on 512 mb ram ,with aero , flip 3d ,etc, but now i run it on 2 GB and there's no big difference . The official system requirements are very real indeed : 800 mHz processor / 512 Mb ram / 32 mb graphic card /20 GB hdd . The 32 bits version of vista can handle 4 GB ram but the 64 bits version can handle up to 128 GB ram for Business, Enterprise and Ultimate .

  12. I'll have to disagree with most of those who replied to this post because i think that Windows Vista is a major advancement in technology . I don't know why you're all complaining about it , but it was the same thing about XP in 2001 when most people were having worse PCs and there were bugs in the beginning . But XP has now SP3 (Service Pack 3) , which contains lots and lots of upgrades to the original OS . Someone who tries Vista , after seeing all those cool graphics , would never want to go back to XP . I had never had any problems with Vista , but neither with Xp . Vista doesn't even require a high-end pc , just a modern one . In the beginning of 2007 , i was already running Vista on my old PC , which had the following specs : -Intel Pentium 4 , 2400 Mhz overclocked to 2700 Mhz-512 MB DDR memory-60 GB HDD ATA 133-Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 128 MBVista was running very cleanly , with aero activated , with transparency , flip 3d , etc on that PC . And i had no problems on it . A few months later i got a new PC with the following specs :-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ , rated @ 6.91 Ghz-2 GB dual-channel , DDR2 memory-Gainward Nvidia 8600 GT GS GLH 256 MB DDR3( 625 mhz - GPU clock , 1800 mhz - memory)-250 GB SATA 2 HDD On my new PC i'm running Vista Ultimate and everything is running excellent . I never encountered any problems that could possibly make me think of XP . Vista supports DirectX 10 for the next gen games , WMP 11 , IE 7/8 and many other great things . I also have XP installed in another partition but i'm mostly using Vista . BTW , Microsoft is already working at Windows 7 , originally called Windows Vienna .

  13. It's not a big difference in terms of quality of laptops , but i would prefer an Acer because of its design. It depends on what you need your laptop for . If you're using it mostly at home as a desktop pc replacement then you should buy a powerful laptop , but if you're like most people who buy a laptop , you buy it for its mobility , for being able to browse the web away from home etc . In this case you need a good battery .
