1. You do know that could be used as a basic resume for clan tryouts! I have been playing CS since 1.5, and I am quite good. We don't have a server, but we are getting one. It is most likely going to be a NuclearFallout 18MAN pub. So I will inform you when we get one. I am impressed by your skills. I personally use the MINE PLUGIN for AMXX. I play on [VI] server. We normally like to meet up on any server, so we aren't very stable. So if you would add my MSN, we could talk a while. I might go to the LOCK server, but I don't play fun maps much. I mostly play the CAL maps.I make my own maps myself, but I have trouble compiling it into a .BSP.Your PHP code for realtime server statistics sounds very impressive, and with your permission, we would love to try that out once we get a server. Thank you for your reply :P

  2. Very nice clan you got going there :(

Give me some time to do abit more training on CS and I will think about joining your clan :(

    :P

It's quite alright. You can join now if you'd like. Our CAL team has good players, but any member can join our clan.

BTW: How long have you been playing CS? I would love to know.

  3. I'm not in college or university, but I'm sure it's uber tough. I just can't wait untill I get into College, but after I hear so many people complain about it, it doesn't show up in my mind as a good thing anymore. I have to start worrying about finances, and all life stuff. And i'm honestly NOT ready for that... Good luck on your exams.

  4. What is your favorite online game and why. If you have more than one favorite game post more than one.

    I'll post my favority game:

My favorite online game is Runescape. Its very fun and easy to understand. Runescape is rather competative, which also makes a good online game. Also they update it alot so when you get bored there is something else to do.

Not neccesarily. If you don't want to get bored of it, you have to pay 7.50 Canadian and 5.00 USD. Because they very, very rarely make updates for both free members and members. P2P dominates all.

    My favourite game...s...are:

    Counter-Strike

    Ragnarok (Just started)

    Gunbound

    Call of Duty

    Counter-Strike:Condition-Zero

    Runescape

I have been playing cs,rs,and cs:cz for over 3 years. Gunbound and Call of Duty I started 1 year ago. And Ragnarok...I just started.

  5. For those looking for a great counter-strike containing many members, you've found it! We are growing everyday. Our forums aren't very active, but our clan members are when it comes to cs!

  6. No problem.

BTW: If you really don't want to get kicked or banned, simply follow the people's sayings. Like when someone says shut up or stop that crappy music, then you should stop it.

Another thing is that music should be fine on surfing maps, servers, knifing maps, server, and you know, the fun stuff. Everytime I join a surfing server, I find people taking turns playing music. They call who's going to first ect. So yeah, be careful.

  7. Let me bold those 2 words that could make all of the difference. I always had the problem of it only working for 5 seconds then cutting off, and if you dont turn it off, every time you touch the talk key, it restarts it.

    137882

Yes, that's a problem that can't be solved unfortunatly, unless they update it somehow and fix this error. And you bolded 3 words...not 2 -_-

    It should have been

    kick or ban

    not

    kick or ban

    :D

  8. This is an early warning, HLSS is really really really looked down upon by most people playing it...

    137818

yes that is very true. People tend to get very annoyed after they have listened to the music. Because HLSS has low quality sound, people get irritated. And they like to kick or ban those who irritate. So be careful -_-

  9. This happens when you start to install a new game under Steam and then try to join a server before the content for the game has finished downloading.

Because there isn't a specific progress bar for the new game and Steam doesn't want to prevent you from playing other games while the new game is downloading, you get into this situation.

Usually what happens is your connection to the server will time out and you will get disconnected.

What makes it a little harder is usually you are sitting there are the splash screen trying to connect to the server when you just don't have all of the game yet.

If you press your Windows key (you can <alt-tab> too) you will see that the Steam icon in the tray is 'busy'.

The best way to see what is happening here is to pull up the Steam Monitor Window and see what is being downloaded. Often what is causing this problem is that instead of downloading just one game at a time and letting it finish, you are trying to download all of the games at once which will usually take quite a long time.

The monitor should report all the different games that are downloading, but it might also just report the cryptic "scanning":

    Posted Image

You should also check in the game properties where it will tell you what percentage of that particular game has been acquired:

    Posted Image

There is a chance that for some reason the game is not set to automatically update, so in that case change it to automatically update and let the game finish downloading.

Bottom Line ... The Solution is ...

The solution for this is to wait for the rest of the game content to be downloaded.

If you want, you can set all the games you aren't immediately interested in to "do not automatically keep this game up to date"

This will pause the download for that particular game and speed up the download for the game you are most interested in. Don't forget to re-enable the automatic update for the other games though once you are done.

OK, All the Games are updated but I still can't get past "precaching", what now?

Occasionally this will happen, perhaps something is missing or got lost in the download.

One thing to try is to go to your splash screen (click on the game in the games menu) and click on "new game" which will let you start a listen server. Try a few different maps and see if they all work.

If that doesn't work, then the next step is to enable a couple of control variables that tell Steam to let you join a game even if the cache isn't 100%.

What you do then is you click on your game in the Games menu and go to the splash screen again, then at the splash screen, you enter the command console (usually the ~ key) and type in:

    fs_lazy_precache 1

Then you can start a server or connect to an internet server and see if that will work.

if that doesn't work, then you can try entering:

    precache 0

and again start a server or connect to an internet server.

This should solve your problem and let you play normally. But since you have dialup, I recommend simply getting a new internet service provider (ISP), perhaps Telus Velocity (DSL). That would literally solve your cs problems. And go to your console (~ Key) and type in "rate 12000". Make sure it does not go higher, because that would cause "choke" and having it too low will cause "loss" which both generate extreme lag during gameplay and loading a server.

    Hope that helped ~

  10. I intend to buy counter strike 2 but I need a few info from experienced users before plunging to save some effort.

    My configuration is

    P4 (2.4 Ghz)

Graphic Card (creative GForce 2 unltra, old)

    Ram 512MB

With a low graphic config, can i get the best of it when playing CS2? I heard from friends that CS2 needs a relatively high graphic card and cpu.

    41335

What will the system requirements be for Counter-Strike: Source?

    Min:

    1.2 GHz Processor

    256MB RAM

    DirectX 7 graphics card

    Windows 2000/XP/ME/98

    Mouse

    Keyboard

    Preferred:

    2.4 GHz ProcessorB 512MB RAM

    DirectX 9 graphics card

    Windows 2000/XP

    Mouse

    Keyboard

You definetely need a good graphics card. But the lowest POSSIBLE to run CS2 is 0.6 GHz and 64 MB video card at lowest possible setting. I have tried that, and it did run, but the ping is regularly around 700+, so your computer is good enough, but make sure the graphics settings are all set to low/none.

Careful or you will fry your card :S

  11. You'll need a basic editor. This is the program you use to create your basic map. Lay out walls, boxes, solids, etc., choose their textures, and place entities like player starts, lights, sounds, etc.

    WorldCraft
WorldCraft is the best all-around editor for Half-Life based games (like Counter-Strike) for one main reason: it is written and maintained by Valve, the company who wrote Half-Life. Valve intends WorldCraft to be the editor for TF2 when it is released. This support by Valve is very important, as you will see below what happens to editors that have no support.

    Quark
Quark is an odd favorite of some. In fact, those that use it are pretty rabid in their support! It's actively maintained (which is good), and has many powerful features. It is a bit different in it's editing concepts than WorldCraft, so the learning curve can be a bit steep.

    Tread
The Tread editor was developed by a couple of independent programmers, and then was abandoned, but then picked back up. It's got some really great features, but I'm not sure if it will survive. It's got a special config file format (not the WorldCraft FGD format), and I am not sure if there is one for Counter-Strike at this time. Tread is good. I paid them money for it. I wish some big game company would "buy" it and make it theres, and thus keep it going.

    Hope that helped~
