I have tried everything to login FTP and I get a bad login every time. I can login to cpanel and do all other functions including changing the password which updates all running services such as the FTp server but to no avail.I have used numerous ftp clients , PASV, active and all. Tried security (SFTP)... nothing.

Dreamweaver is the best design suite on the market. It is pricy but well worth it if you design or update sites frequently. In my opinion Dreamweaver is actually easier to use than frontpage. I tried frontpage and as stated above it sucked. I guess since I started with Dreamweaver and actually don't use Microsoft products except Windows XP, (upgraded to XP after I bought a Vista laptop. Hated slow going Vista. Ubuntu is the Best or Kbuntu, mythbuntu or edubuntu etc etc.). Sooner or later the free os's are going to catch Windows. With a couple more releases Ubuntu will probably be the one.So in summary if you can afford it the entire CS3 Suite would be the best way to go. BTW Adobe now owns Macromedia so it is Adobe Dreamweaver now.AND... Dreamweaver 8 works with zero problems using WINE in Ubuntu. Just thought you would like to know....

I too use OpenOffice... Well it is actually us Go-oo: http://www.go-oo.org/. It is based on OpenOffice but loads faster and has some great features not included in the OpenOffice Suite. The only thing I would like to see is a way to convert or import complete Microsucks Access databases to OpenOffice Base. I have worked for years on my company database but it is all in access. If anyone knows of a tool that does this please let us all know so I can make the complete move to Go-oo. After all it is free and yes all small business should make the move. The suite is more powerful then the alternative and is WAY cheaper. As Tom Peterson would say: "Free is a VERY good price!" http://www.openoffice.org/ http://www.go-oo.org/. Try It You'll LOVE it! BTW: If you want more clipart try this: https://openclipart.org/

As you said above the Yahoo!Toolbar is the only way to get tabs in ie6 as far as I know. I am also a AVID Firefox user on both my windows and linux boxes. Nothing is better and with the theme and plug-in extensions you can very quickly and easily make it your own. If you want a great email client try the Mozilla Thunderbird. I use the Lightening extension for calendar and the minimize to tray extension to keep Thunderbird off my desktop and out of my taskbar but yet it still runs, checks your mail for you and notifies you every time it receives new mail. It has preset options for Gmail and does a multitude of tasks.Mozilla is clearly the way... Trully safer and easier than any other browser I have tried.

I was in Albuquerque New Mexico yesterday and had to stop along the freeway (I-25) to adjust the load I had on my pickup. I no more got into the back of the truck and a big yellow truck with flashing lights pulled up. He pulled up beside me and asked if everything was OK. I told him I was okay just needed to adjust my load so it didn't fall out and create a problem. He told me that was a good idea, thanked me and backed up to sit and warn other drivers with his lights. This is a free service the State of New Mexico provides to all motorists traveling through Albuquerque. If you get stranded the safety truck will come to help you in anyway they can. The freeway is monitored by cameras and that is how the truck is dispatched. If you run out of gas they will get you enough to get to a safe location or get more gas. If you break down they will get you a tow or if you blow a tire they can even help you change it and get on your way.I have traveled extensively in the Western US and have never seen this before. I decided I would call and give "kudos" for a job well done but the problem I had was were to call? As luck would have it I called the City Clerks Office and talked to a very nice lady that put me in contact with the new 311 system. 311 here is the city information line. Well the lady at 311 knew exactly where to call and gave me the number to the exact office I needed to give a good report about the man that helped me.I know that people hardly ever call to give good praise so I did. I also decided to put it here on the forum to let everyone know that when you are traveling through Albuquerque NM you are safe on our roads. Come visit the Balloon Fiesta! It is a great trip and a wonderful time. Don't miss Balloon Glow though!

Hey guys. Haven't been here long but I wanted to tell you about my last experience with Alltel. Yeah the HUGE cell phone provider. So, I decided to NOT sign any of the contracts they were offering me. All I wanted was a prepaid phone since I don;t walk around with the damn thing attached to my ear, like so many others I see in the city. With prepaid it allows me to control my spending and not get massive contract fees for canceling early or what not. I go to my local Alltel store, (which is 100 miles away) and tell the guy what I want. SInce I had researched half the night before I knew exactly what I wanted. I told him what I wanted which was two phones on a prepaid plan with the .75 a day charge for service. No Contracts, No Bull. Of course he tried to convince me to get into a contract and get all the bells and whistles but I refused. So I buy two razrs. One for me one for my wife. Got them both on the plan I wanted and left with a smile since I beat him at the sales game and did not buy one thing I di not want. Now, 3 days later the phone rings and I look at the front screen to see who it is. It was blank, nothing, nada. The phone had quit working already! Well that is not entirely true. The phone was working, the inside screen was working but the little front screen only lit up but did not display anything. I thought that was odd but the guy said there was a 1 year warranty on the phone so I didn't fret. I figured I would trade it for another on my next trip down.A few days later I made a trip and stopped by the same store I bought the phones from. Of course the guy I talked to at first was not there at the time so I strolled to another desk that had a woman sitting at it. I explained what was going on and she started into another sales pitch for another phone. I told her I didn't want another phone I wanted this one FIXED under warranty like the guy said. She asked by number and when I gave it to her she got a sour look on her face and asked my "you're on the pre-paid?" of course I told her yes and she says, "That's a whole different matter" and again launched into fees for fixing my phone and a rental charge plus deposit for a "loaner" phone. I asked her can't she just get another phone from the back and program it? She said no they had changed the policy LAST WEEK to all phones had to be sent to God only knows where to get fixed and it would would take from 7 to 30 days. 7 to 30 days?! It only took the darn thing 3 to break!. Of course I got rather upset and told her that was a bunch of "crap". I didn't use any profanity and she jumped up and said "You can't talk to me that way!". I looked her straight in the face, grabbed my phone out of her hand and went to the next available person. This guy was cross eyed and dumb looking. One of those loud morons that knows everything but yet knows nothing. I explained the problem I had with Dixie over there, or whatever her name was and asked him if he could do anything for me. Well needless to say I still have the same phone and it still is not fixed. I tried finding any managers to talk to but there were none available. I called the 800 number for Alltel only to get another jerk that wouldn't help me a bit. With that being my last option I am stuck. Unfortunately I live in the middle of no-wheresville and Alltel is the best signal so I am still stuck. The moral. Do Not Buy A Razr From Alltel. They WILL NOT stand behind it and they want all kinds of other fees for repair and or warranty even if it is not your fault.Have a simular story about Alltel or another provider? Have a comment on this post? Reply now and let your voice be heard.

Hey Everyone,It is the 4th. Celebration time. While I am sitting here waiting to go to the big city and watch the Fireworks I am messing with my WinTV and Razr V3. Man the bluetooth under Ubuntu is awesome. I love the proximity sensor. After you get it setup you can lock and unlock your computer automatically by walking out of or into the proximity of your computer. Of course you have to have Ubuntu installed and a bluetooth USB or built in adapter but once you are set it is really cool.Kind of off topic but I am messing with my WinTV HVR USB too. I will do another post about that and maybe a few tutorials after I get this all figured out. I know Linux has evolved into an ultra powerful, customizable work horse of an operating system though. I hacked my out WEP/128 Wireless network last night too, just to see if I could...By the way the design of the RAZR sucks but the features are great. Kind of a toss up phone. Not great but not bad.But Ubuntu? Well, Ubuntu kicks Winblows *bottom*.Any thoughts?

I have a RAZR but it sucks. I got it through Alltel. About a week after I got it the front screen went wacky. It lights up but doesn't display anything. I took it back to Alltel (crappy service by the way) and they gave me all sorts of run around. They would not replace the phone but wanted to send it in for repair. it would be 2-4 weeks to get it back. I told them I could not be without my phone that long as it is used for business. They said I could rent a "loaner" phone from them. This will be the last phone I get from them. They are cool looking bu they are junk. It has a lot of great features but if it doesn't last what does it matter?DO NOT BUY ALLTEL. PERIOD!!! They will screw you!
