What kind of data management application are you using to run your website?Im not very sure what you mean, but if you using any php data management application, maybe make a news module with admin permission to change and users to view only. I believe they already have news module out there for most applications like php-nuke, mambo, dotnetnuke. And all you have to do is go to admin back-end and write whatever you want in news section and select who could view and edit the file.

Yeah, mine was hacked once too... it sucks... just change your pw to something ridiculously long and crazy, write it down somewhere... then make sure you have backup as well... just in case you do somehow get hacked again by some hacking genius, you can just change the pw and reload the backup...

I'm not sure if the server supports DotNetNuke, but has anybody tried using it on this server... What you think about it? I hear DotNetNuke is better than PHP-Nuke? I dunno... thanks for the input..

There were no errors.... when I delete or add a redirect path, it tells me it was deleted or created... but when I go back to redirect manager page, not has changed... I have no idea... should I ask the admin to reset my account back to default then?

I don't mean to make this as a complaint, just thought I bring it to you guy's attention... Recently I have had a very hard time viewing my site, even if I used the default index.html. My PHP-nuke has went down many times. Different things change day by day. For example, my security code was not working on the log-in, and the next day it went back up. Or sometimes I can't even load the page period. I'm not sure if its a bug or something on php-nuke itself... but if it is the server, I just thought I bring it to your attention to make it run smoother, thanks..

actually strike that... now my whole php-nuke site is not working... anybody know if the server is working or not? I didn't modify nothing to cause it to not work at all... please let me know thanks...

originally, I only had to add one redirect path and it worked fine for quite awhile... but recently, all of the sudden, its not redirecting to the page I want it to... On top of that, when I go into redirect manager to actually delete the old path and add a new redirect path, it wont let me... its really weird... if anybody could help me with that!!! thanks!!!

Okay, I click on the link to check out the real set-up for Mailform (supposedly the clone has the exact set-up process), but I have no idea how to use it... Could someone help? I made a form using dreamweaver already, does anybody know how to actually utilize the form I made on dreamweaver with the Mailform Clone to put on my website? I use PHP-Nuke as well, if someone could give me help on slapping that on to PHP-Nuke, that would be great! thanks a million!!

I think you should check out the website again... 7.5 is out and you gotta pay for that baby... but 7.4 is released for free to the public... Not sure if 7.5 is better than 6.8 or not, but I really want to get my hands on it and screw around with it one day... just to see how it is... If 7.4 is better though, I hope admin is going to upgrade system to have default installation of 7.4.

No, actually I didn't make it more specific... im actually using php-nuke, and what I want to do is base on the example previously, I have 5 pages on my website (by pages, I mean the middle column (center block)). And say I want to have 1 out of the 5 as a template. ie.:Name:Hobbies:AIM:like that... and when a registerred person signon to his/her account, it would fill in the blanks on that specific page on php-nuke.Please let me know if you could help!!

but the php installed on our webspace is actually php-nuke 6.4 (or 6.8 or something)... itll be nice to upgrade to new 7.4 (free version), but i dunno... actually the security code works again... for some reason it was crap yesterday and it wasn't there... hope everything is okay with server...

Is it me or theres actually "pop-ups" in the same window youre browsing on? I was just checking out my page, and there was a "pop-up" on the page I was on saying Xisto.com detected some adwares on my computer (with a whole list) and try to link me to here2find.com to find a list of adwares to buy... Please tell me I was tripping, or if Xisto.com actually has "popups" on the same browser window?

Im currently experimenting and playing around with php-nuke. Its a great!!! Now, if only I figure out how to use it completely. haha... hey, does anybody know how to change the text in the blocks? like the login block text? I've tried to delete it and add on a new login block to add the text content, but the stupid login block remains the same as default. If you know how, please let me know, thanks!

Im not really sure about this, but im gonna give it a try... I doubt you need to do anything, the engines on Xisto are most likely up-to-date. So even if you have an old back db, im sure they would recognize and know what to do. So just take a shot and make backup db over at old web host and load backup db over here. Hope that helps...

If I remember correctly, dont you have firewall? Maybe you modified something on your firewall restriction. Maybe just try to use the ip address, that might work...It's been working fine for the past 3 days for me.

This may sound really stupid, but when you using php-nuke and editing the main message in the middle column, is that html? I tried slapping on html, but it didn't turn out right. I only tried it once though, im not sure if I have any errors and prevent it from working... THank for your input in advance.

Right now I'm using a bunch of stuff to monitor my computer weekly. I have Ad-aware SE and norton always on protecting my computer. But somehow them bloodhound viruses or trojan seems to leak in, and when norton or adaware detects it right away and try to get rid of it, the access is denied. So pretty much I have to open and configure start-up to have only the programs I want to use. Then I have to restart, go into safe-mode and do full scan in norton and in adaware (cuz norton sucks and usually it doesnt detect all the spyware (mostly unwanted cookies)). After doing that, I go into HiJackThis and delete all the unwanted stuff running in the back of my computer. then I would have to go into add/remove programs to remove all them spyware programs, then I go into program files (cuz some of them are not in add/remove programs) and delete them manually. And I have to do this everytime I go onto them stupidass fake sites when I search on yahoo and other underground sites. Maybe someone has an idea to prevent all this from happening? im thinking of firewall, but then I wouldn't be able to take advantage of my p2p protocols and ftp up/download. I dunno.

Hey folks, Im sure when you go on Xisto.com you see the hand and the globe logo up top. I know they use flash for that, but how they heck do you actually do it? I have flashmx and swish3d... Ive used flashmx, but never swish3d, please tell me which would be best for the logo like the one on Xisto.com main page. Thanks!!

lib2day is correct...Actually, all those sites I have been to, and their photos are of good quality, but theyre just useless, because theyre just random picture, people took and upload it online. I don't want to pay for the hefty price they charge to access those royalty-free stock photos. I'm starting my own low-key business at home, and I'm trying to find good meaningful royalty-free business stock images so I could modify them the way I want and post them on my website. Something like http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ but for free, instead of having to pay for it, or pay a subscription to access it. For Gettyimage.com, I believe you have to pay in order to download their images. Please if anybody could help me out thatll be great!!!

I am very new to web developing as well. I have been trying to play around with php-nuke, but its kinda tough. Could there be a forum for phpnuke so people could help newbies like me? I am trying to switch the content in the main page, as well as links, but I have no idea which file to open in dreamweaver to modify, please help thanks. The reason they dont know jack *BLEEP* is cuz most of them dont even know whats on sale that day , until their supervisor give them a list of stuff and they make copies of it in their own handwriting. I went down there so many times, and I would have to show them the newspaper itself before they cheap their handwritten list and realize its on sale. Fry's sale changes like every 1-2 days... You just always have to be on it and get it right away, or youll be too late.
