It all depends on what kind of gaming experience you are looking for. Everyone's opinion is different when it comes to private servers. Blizz had plenty of money with the millions that play it right now not to mention the continuous others that play their non online games. I do not think that they are in any near danger of floundering financially. Also it is not like the private servers don't have a lot of money sunk into what they provide to others for free. I myself am a GM/Forum Administrator and Webmaster on the private server that I help run. We script what needs to be scripted and fix what needs to be fixed when it comes to bugs.
