  1. I have been playing World of Warcraft for quite a while and also helped my friend in making one too. There are many possibilities for making a World of Warcraft private server. If you want then I could help you in making one.The basic requirements are,a) A Dedicated Box, VPS hosting with a static public IP address, a dynamic IP address could also work but for that Dynamic DNS needs to be setup,B) Preferably a Windows BOX as I have only worked on the windows version of the server.c) Minimum 20 GB space.d) Good bandwidth speed. The above requirements are generic in terms of creating any type of private server of any game that has a working emulated server package out there. For more details, post in the forum, I will keep checking time after time if someone needs my assistance in working on it.Soby.

  2. I can backup what I have on my hosting account using the cpanel feature so I don't think that would be a problem for me but about this - 13000 + credits part is the thing I don't understand.Currently I am on a positive number with a small number of days to hold me so when i close my account, will I be automatically reduced to the - 13000 ? PS: Saint Michael, you also typed a + with the number too. What does that indicates. Is it that after closing my hosting account, I would be given either a positive or a negative number? also how come I can't worry when I have that much number of credits to cope up with. Please elaborate on this and kindly post a followup on this, I would appreciate is very much. Thanks.

  3. I've been a hosted member here for sometime but due to some work that I have to tend to, I am unable to cope up with credits here. I tried to keep up with posting here but seeing the upcoming days, I don't think I could frequent here that much. There is a possibility that I can finish up early and be back here but seeing that my account is getting into negative numbers here, I don't want to take the chance of getting back and see my self at a high negative number. So what I am asking here is that, is that possible that I am transfered back to the non hosted members category and then I can start over when I am back here. If this is a possibility then please I would be delighted if this request is dealt with accordingly.Waiting earnestly for a follow up to this question. Thanks for the wonderful community and the services you people are providing here. We, the people at Xisto can never thank you enough.

  4. I got to know about this a couple of months back. The problem is that since the anime was commecialized, they started expanding the episodes so much so that they can get more and more out of the show. This definately resulted in the fillers which were really entertaining at the start but when they didn't progress the storyline became annoying. At first I thought that the fillers might have something to do with the storyline but when they bacame somewhat of what they were, fillers, I just wanted them to be over with. Lol.. I first thought the producer forgot what the storyline was and were playing with fillers biding time so that they can come up with something...FINALLY... the fillers are over and now the show can progress normally and IT WOULD BE AWESOME..Can't wait to find out how the story turns out to be.

  5. Hey.. Am i missing something here? Last I saw that the domain was for a year only, now it says that it's for free for life.Is there a catch here? I mean you have to have 280 credits to apply for the domain for a year and have to get 280 credits the next year to keep the hosting alive or it's just a one time deal. Get to 280 credits the first time and you're free for life?Either way man this is really awesome. A top level domain is not what can be achieved freely on the internet. Please clarify.

  6. Like I put up a thread in the suggestion area, people should use complex password rather than easily crackable passwords. Even though special case characters are not allowed, there are way to set up passwords that are not easily crackable until someone has access to your brain lol.my thought would be to use an alph-numerice with uppercase and lower case character. Thats equal to a middle case security, max security obviously to include special case characters.

  7. BlizzCon 2007: WoW Professions and Items

With the new expansion on the way, Blizzard discusses what new items and professions are in store.

August 4, 2007 - With all of the upcoming professions and items queued up for the upcoming patches and expansion for the game, the folks at Blizzard have loads to talk about and the fans are eager to find out more. At the WoW: Professions and Items panel at this year's BlizzCon, Tom Chilton, Travis Day and Jon LeCraft were on hand to explain their ideas for the reasoning behind these two essential parts of World of Warcraft, as well as what to expect.

The main portion of the panel was dedicated to discussing the philosophies behind the creation of new items, with a lot of focus placed upon what would make the game that much more amusing and what will make a better overall experience. From an initial inspiration from the creative team or fans right down to whether or not a given item would benefit players, helping them progress their given progression or if the complexity of materials and skills required to create an item is worth the payoff. The creators made it crystal clear that every item is meticulously planned and ensured that it would be a benefit to the game world.

Once they got through that main portion of the discussion, they moved on to things that they are planning for the future of WoW, and it's looking like there's plenty on the way to sate the fanbase. First of all, they want to make sure new profession items will be the best fit to a character's spec; that is to say, there's a slew of new items and recipes on the way to allow a nice range of diversity to make sure there's some great new gear for every last character class and that it will fit with their equipment. Things along the lines of the current engineering goggles or a transporter will add an extra sense of prestige and satisfaction to everything in a players inventory. Blizzard also wants to make sure that the new item recipes are great leveling gear, providing a person who has taken the time to level up their profession will get the ability to create gear that is actually worth the effort.

Sometimes, Blizzard simply doesn't have the time or resources to add a given piece of gear, so as they progress, they'll be adding pieces that have been already conceived and designed, but weren't quite ready for a given patch, so they'll be adding it down the road. A good example provided during the Q&A was the portable mailbox. During the Burning Crusade beta, this item was available and the fans loved it, but it was prone to exploits, but it wasn't ready for public use. Right now, it still needs some cleaning up, so they're holding off, but they'd like to pop it back in down the road because it's a great engineering item that was a hit with the audience.

A couple of new tweaks to the game aimed towards transmutes and vendor recipes, which was met with a warm reception and sounds like it will be beneficial to those who use them the most. Several transmute abilities are set up with a 24 hour cool down, which doesn't jibe well with the players. Blizzard is listening and rather than having a 24 hour cooldown, a lot of these spells will be changed to a once a day cast, so you could potentially log in at 11pm, cast a transmute and then wait an hour and cast it again once you breach that midnight threshold.

Another will be made to items available from vendors, helping add to the overall game. Blizzard doesn't really enjoy the current system in place, where players can buy a batch of items and wait for the respawn to occur at a predetermined time and buy some more. What they're aiming to do is tweak things to where blue and purple recipes show up with a given vendor to add a surprise when the given item pops up. This is system is shooting to be totally random, so players cant really hang around the vendor or show up at a given time to buy a recipe, making it that much more difficult to camp and be the first to buy the item, but it's sounding like that there's a lot of potential for players to turn these rare items into a monopoly on the auction house, so we'll have to wait and see how Blizzard pulls this initiative off.

Down the road, World of Warcraft is set to see quite a bit of new additions that should hopefully add to the game, with tweaks and new mechanics altogether that should hopefully make the game that much better, though only brief explanations of each were available at the show. New daily profession quests will be added to the game, which should help add incentive to various professions and are primed to give professions new abilities while making the level grinding less tedious. One potential improvement along these lines was aimed squarely at enchanters, who sometimes have a difficult time improving their skill. Blizzard is currently talking about going to an item-based enchant system so players can sell their enchants in the auction house. Though this doesn't necessarily guarantee this is something that will be implemented, it's something that the WoW team feels will improve game and should alleviate the stress on enchanters and it's one example of how leveling will be tweaked.

Also queued up for future updates is new crafter only gear, including recipes and jewels including the "Blood of Amber" jewel, which will have a +12 spell crit, "Kaiee's Rose" which comes with +26 healing, and the "Falling Star" jewel, which sports a +18 stamina boost. A new recipe for jewel crafting is on its way to compliment the jewels, called "Steady Talasite," which offers a +4 resilience and +6 stamina buff. Blizzard wants to make level progression easier, so new things are set to be added to help on that front (but the panelists didn't elaborate on what exactly that will consist of).

Coming with the new Zul'Aman instance is a substantial slew of new drops which should please the fans. A brand new enchant is on its way called "Executioner," which is an armor penetration enchant, able to be crafted by only the most experienced enchanters. Another drop will be "The Dagger of Bad Mojo," a giant, ivory looking weapon which is said to sport a damage rating of 142-213, it will increase your attack power by 40, and your attacks will ignore 154 of your opponent's armor. A two-handed sword dubbed "Jin'rohk, The Great Apocalypse," which will have a 360-570 damage and will improve your haste rating by 45. New legendary weapons are in the queue, and the first piece officially announced is a new ranged weapon which is primed to show hunters some love. Beyond ranged weapons, casters and healers will see a few legendary weapons, but it's sounding like that will be a ways down the road, but it is interesting news nonetheless.

With the announcement of the Inscription profession, there's still a lot of information left to be conveyed, so Blizzard shared a few tidbits with the audience. This new profession will allow for people to imbue a characters spells and abilities with an extra zing, almost acting as a single talent point for each of your abilities. Whether it's sinister strike, multishot or a frostbolt, you'll be able to tweak every last ability. Inscribers will also have a new ability that hasn't really been talked about before, allowing them to create completely new items. Though the panelists couldn't talk about it just yet, there will be a whole other side to inscription rather than just altering your spells and abilities. When it comes to inscribing abilities for other people, the inscriptions themselves will be scroll based, so players can put up an inscription scroll on the auction house, allowing others to buy and upgrade their arsenal at their leisure.

With all the work that's being put into the professions and items, it's sounding like there's a lot to look forward to for the future of WoW. Whether or not all of these things will make it into the game is anyone's guess, but it certainly sounds like Blizzard is paying attention to its fans and shooting to make the most enjoyable game possible.

I've been playing World Of Warcraft for a long time and then came the Burning Crusade Expansion. They are both extremely engrossing with their indivudual race storylines and the quest lineups and the crittering and leveling. They have so many stuff to keep you engrossed that you don't know when the time passed. Lots of stuff to do. I haven't to this time fully explored the potential of the these two games and this one is coming up. Hopefullt like before, they will launch the download and the beta testing free logons like in burning crusade. Let's see what happens.

  8. Well what we all are trying to say is that you've gotta be really carefull among things like money and stuff. It has ways of turning the persons character in an instant. The point where you are telling us that the company man is making you see that it's not that you're doing the work for them but you're doing the work for a company you are going to be a part of. Not trying to question the persons intentions but bluntly saying thats the oldest line I have seen in trying to settle an agreement and get quality work.Apart from all this I would say that being the part of the company and to being a part of the revenue generated, the only safe way for you is to get everything written down. Like an agreement that can hold up in court, 'Stamped Paper' is what we call here. Once the agreement is in place, even if they decide to con you, of which I have my doubts, since this person works for a Non Governmental Organinzation and for the welfare of people, you will have everything on hand to get back at these guys.I say, get the papers right and take the gamble. It's only a couple of thousand dollars, that you can get from any other projects that you will do but if this thing works out, it will be an alternate stream for revenue for you that has the chances of prospering.Once again I will say, get the papers right, and code the website so others will have a difficult job of using it. Don't use CMS like you said above.Hope this thing works out for you. I wish you best in this endeavour of yours. Best of Luck there mate.

  9. Was that a hosting service or a scam. Man their website was an eyesore. At first I thought that they were offering the asp.net support which comes with a little higher price. But when i clicked the asp.net link, MAN they are asking for a whooping $17 for that.Thats sure is one big money gauging website. Poeple should know about it so they don't get scam'd. Xisto is far more better than others out there. benefits of being in a community and getting a paid hosting type account for free.

  10. I've been using the IBM thinpad series for a long time and would recommed it you. They are robust, sturdy and reliable. Their customer support is very good and being a long time user of it, I didn't find any problems in it.You didn't really mention whats your budget and what type of machine you want. Is it a high end machine or is it a business use laptop. You want gamer peformance or you want normal performance at a nominal price.

  11. all the problems that came with the laptop, all seem to be the reason for mishandling the laptop with the exception of the low battery life. I would suggest, why don't you try checking if the laptop you recieved IS your laptop. There might've been a switch between yours and someone else's. Other than that, since you've recieved the laptop and there can't be anything done as you must've signed the papers when you got the laptop, you must take it to the consumer court. HP/Compaq being that big names don't really do this type of stuff. A small incident like your can lose them many customers. They care for this thing. Try cordinating with them and see if there is a possiblity of getting a replacement. One more thing is that whenver there is a software related issue, Try to do something about it yourself. Windows Installation is not that hard.

  12. Like you mentioned that there are two choices for you. Well first you didn't mention properly whether they depend solely on the website for their tourism and other matters of revenue generation. Are they an established company or are they newly founded.Another thing that you may think as a fail safe plan is, if they decide to cheat you for your work and money, you can shut off their website and stuff. What do you think they are gonna let you go off so easily. As you mention these people are old enough to be your dads, they will have ways out of this.If the conditions are right, it is a good investment pertaining to the fact that you may generate enough money to overcome what you are charging them for the designing. One is for sure is that you kind of have already made the decision which reflects from your posts. I can only tell you that take this step after full consideration. If I would've been in your place, I would've checked if the amount for making the website, if i lose it will not affect me as much, I would've taken the gamble of joining their business. Mark that I used the word 'gamble' coz thats what i think this is.Otherwise I would've taken them for what they're worth and taken my money and moved off.

  13. I live in a Pakistan and have seen the chinese product spread around the market. They are cheap and easy to buy. I can't really tell you about the people or the websites that might cater for this type of business but what i can tell you is that the places where you want to market your products, you have to visit them and then meet up with the current distributors of the products. We have people marketing the products and selling on the streets, in the buses, almost everywhere. There is also the possibilty that you can contact any one of the people who are selling the products abroad and ask them how they got around to doing this. The situation you want is possible but you have to improvise on it see what the possibilities are available for you.

  14. First of all you need to clear whether you are just doing the designing or you are going to do the web development too. As in programming and stuff.Well considering the web designing business or any other business, every business has the chance to prosper and gain more than the others. It's just the point on how you handle the business.Considering in your case the web designing, first you have to make a good portfolio and try to get your hands on some good projects that you can show other what you can do. Try to get some creativity and something different in what you do.Once the initial portfolio has been made, you have to market yourself and that too to the right people. remember that in whatever you do in business, the skill counts the 25% of the business and how you handle yourself and the comminication methods you use count for the rest.you can make up your portfolio on the freelance website like guru.com and the likes. If you are planning to do some development then it is a very good advantage as the other people hire other to do this sort of stuff where you can save more like this.finally putting is this way, if you've got heart and dedication nothing can stop you from becoming the top shot in the market. you just have o focus, create a better display of your skills, market, communicate, get good projects and you're on.

  15. My friends were doing the job in which they had their expertise. They gained their experience and at a point where they knew that they more they experience they get will not increase in their expertise or they point at which they thought they might get stagnant, they put into action their plan. The plan to start their own business. They didn't just up and quit their jobs and went on the pathway to start their business. It takes planning and management to start something of their own.You don't just have to land ashore and burn the ships that you cannot turn back but you have to have a safe way out.See what is it that you're good at. What about the potential you can see in the market. do a market survey and check whats there and what to be done. What different you can do in the market.Once the initial market survey has been done. then comes a initial planning of starting the business.. the overhead.the client base. The target market, if possible the sponsors or the partners.Once all of this has been done you have to start going towards productivity. Now this is the part where the job comes in. once when you've started your business, it doesn't mean that you can cash it in and use the money and work and get more. Business need investments and the initial revenue that you generate should all be invested in the business and use the money from that job to meet up with your expenses. There will come a time when the business becomes so stable and time needy that you won't have to continue the job and take it up full time and leave the job.It all depends on carefull planning. The reason the fear of starting a business isn't there is because you have a backup job to cover you up. I wish you best of luch in your future endeavours.
