Things I Learned From Watching Happy Feet 8 Times
Orca239 replied to xboxrulz1405241485's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Wow, you must REALLY like that movie to watch it that many times in so little time. I don't think I would have noticed most of those things even if I had seen it that many times myself, lol. Some interesting stuff there. -

I'm sure that some things have probably been changed, and some versions more than others. But I believe that God protected his word so that it did not become corrupted, at least somewhat I'm sure. Of course there isn't much proof that none of the Bible has been changed, but there are many theories by scientists that have no way of being proven, and yet they're accepted by alot of people... anyway.Although it isn't necessary to read the entire Bible to be a Christian, it is definately good to read it through. But if you do so, you need to be open to what God wants you to get from it so that it isn't a waste of time. You have to be willing to hear what's said, you know?

Catholicism Vs. Christianity How do they differ?
Orca239 replied to linzy's topic in General Discussion
No, the main difference is we don't praise / worship (whatever you want to call it) Mary (I mean, she isn't God after all...), but we do believe she had the miracle virgin birth. I think in Catholicism they pray through Mary to God, but we Christians pray and talk directly with God. And before someone goes and jumps on it, no I don't mean we actually look at his face and talk to him, but we do pray directly to him and talk with him. Talking as in, we say something to him, and he replies, though it might not be right away, and it's not normally a voice in our head. There probably have been some times when it came as a voice in someone's head so to speak, but... I think you get what I'm saying. -
I'm pretty sure we know what you meant, but I'd just like to point out that being a Christian isn't just being kind to everyone, doing good deeds, etc, but they have to accept Christ (Jesus / God) as their savior and be saved. Also something to say around that subject is that people need to know how to think for themselves and to not begin to 'worship' their church leader (or other leader like that). If they don't fall into a routine of just listening and hanging onto every word that they say, they will more likely realize when / if the leader begins to 'lead them astray'.

Google's Annual April Fools Pranks
Orca239 replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Don't you think a prank where they "suspended" all of our accounts would be a little much? Some people might have sites that would be badly effected by that, lol. But uh, yeah I'm sure some site out there beat Google in its own way... just wouldn't have fooled as many people I guess. -
Seems a little risky to have a program or whatever mess with your system's OS files... I'd stick with plain old XP or save up for Vista.

Google's Annual April Fools Pranks
Orca239 replied to nightfox1405241487's topic in Websites and Web Designing
lol, wow. There were alot of sites that did April Fool's jokes yesterday. One site (http://www.japanyay.com/dothack.php) put up a big "We have been shut down by <insert company name here>. Lol, when it came back up everyone was ranting and crap, lol. Another one (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) said they were going to release a much anticipated (by fans of that site at least) 3D game "in the next 24 hours", oh man those guys were ticked off when they found out. And then a Wikia (dothack wikia) changed all the series names to some guy's name and put up fake pics. I actually didn't pull any pranks this year, lol. I shoulda thought up something. -

Awesome! I went to see this movie with our church's youth group, and we all loved it. I would go out and buy it if I had the money to use, lol. -
Firefox 2 Has A Spell Check! Yea, it really does.
Orca239 replied to brcmville's topic in Websites and Web Designing
I was actually going to post something about ieSpell, lol. The only thing I've found with it though (I just found it like two days ago) is that it doesn't show red lines like in Word if you've misspelled a word, but all you have to do is right-click and run the spell check when you've finished typing. Works fine for me! -
Nice, the new layout / design thing is really nice. The space-themed image is a little random, but after thinking about it some it fits well enough. It's a really nice image either way, lol. I definately think the layout of their new site is much more appealing and possibly easier to navigate than the last one. I'm one that ended up having to keep going back to that site, and I was getting a little tired of that old layout, lol.I've also seen a preview and demos of the new phpBB3 they've been working on for a while, and I personally think it's great. I know there are some stability issues at the moment, but that's why they have the beta, right? I'm not sure how styles work exactly, but I'm guessing that entirely new themes will have to be made to work with this new major version update. If that's the case, I'll probably wait a while to switch to phpBB3 (that plus the whole stability and bugs issue, I'll wait for some of those to be resolved). I don't really want to make the switch and have to use the default theme, lol (even though it is nice). If styles don't have to be completely redone, then I'll probably switch right over when it comes out. Some of the styles might just have to be modded a little too, I don't really know.Oh, I got a little bit off topic I guess, lol, but not too badly.

Orca239 replied to brcmville's topic in Websites and Web Designing
Spell check is a pretty good feature to have in a web browser, especially considering some of the people you run into that takl leik thiz, lol. It's not a big enough deal for me to switch to FireFox though. I tried FireFox a while back, and couldn't stand it. I don't see why so many people are so... passionate? about it. (Weird thing to be passionate about btw, lol). -
An Opera browser on the DS would be really awesome. It's great enough to have it on the Wii (wow, Nintendo likes Opera don't they, lol), but in my hands on a portable would be awesome as well! WiFi is a little annoying since it's so hard to find a good spot to hook up to it (even in my house =_=), but that'll still be awesome! How will it be available if we can't already browse anything to download it or w/e? That'll be interesting to see... or will it only be for new DS's? That would suck ... lol.

(Sorry, I haven't read the entire conversation, but most of it. Therefore I will go on my point from what I read.) A Christian does not have to read the entire Bible (like in an earlier example, there's a difference in knowing God with your mind, and with your heart. Many atheists know who God is, have read the Bible, etc, but still don't know God) A Christian doesn't even actually have to have a Bible, they can learn from other Christians, but I'd say if you can get one, it would be a very good idea. You can learn alot more by reading it first hand and getting out of it what God wants you to get out of it. I've read a verse before and not found anything at all in it (at the time I wasn't very open to God, aka I was in a bad mood and didn't feel like listening... shame on me >_<; But when I read it again later, what God wanted me to see and get from it popped out at me as if it were highlighted. Oh, by the way, if you don't fully believe that God will do or tell you something, then don't expect him to do it. Just a little FYI for someone out there that might need to see it... dunno but I just felt for some reason I needed to put it.
