  1. Like all things the term has become hazy over time. It's subject to various perspectives and meanings. So first off I'll be refering to the cyber hacker...Those are guidelines as to what a hacker should be according to the social norm. But ironically a hacker (according to cyber lore) is a rebel against society. So why would they subject themselves to the social norm?I believe only casual or wannabe hackers will abide by these "rules".

  2. First off I'm not homosexual but I have no problem with them. To me it's a personal choice and frankly I admire their courage to stand up to a prejudiced society :lol:. I have one major problem with social construction.

    now..
    To clear up some facts..

    Well, humans aren't made to reproduce in the same sex.

    The old biological excuse. Sex is and never was solely about procreation and has been labelled thus mainly by the catholic (Western) dogma. And with the church losing it's grip on society they have finaly been freed from it's grip. Compare the amount of acting homosexuals now and those of 400 years ago and you'll get my point. It's about pleasure nothing else. There are enough kids in the world :lol:

  3. pixel stretch backgrounds are a good start but it's best to get away from them fast, because now it's all about layering, lighting and good blending.

    They get addictive but old real fast for those who see them (well for me anyway :().
    Personally I like the greenday one, as Imtay22 said, the lyrics are very well put :lol:.

    Also, for a beginner you're pretty good, keep it up mate :lol:

  4. Something tells me you and the others above your post haven't actually looked at those videos that are linked in the original post. Please don't even comment until after you've viewed those videos with an open mind. OK? I don't know any rational people that will assimilate the facts presented in those videos and who'll still say that 9/11 and 7/7 were terrorist acts. Yes. There are people in the world who hate us. That's beside the point. LOOK AT THE DAMN VIDEOS!!! The governments you all so blindly trust are lying to you!!!

    Exactly, but what more could you expect from americans :lol:. I have nothing against you guys but seriously..WAKE UP. It looks like the majority of you are either asleep or downright ignorant..blindly putting trust in your leader. And yes, like you hundreds of others believed they were doing the right thing when they followed that moron.
    You laugh at the the ignorance of the chinese when you're equally guilty. Oh how the mighty have fallen :cry:

  5. Alo ppl,You'll come to know me soon enough..once I start chatting on a forum I'm usually on a rampage :lol:.Anyz, I'm 18 and from South-Africa. I'm into rugby, anime, reading, philosophy, drawing up layouts and chilling with my buds.Hope to get to know ya all soon :lol:

  6. the only real verdict is the media. Yes a small group of militants blew up a few buildings. If you step back and take it all in on a global perspective it's utter crap. They've blown up the story to such extent that we can hardly make sense of reality. To associate a muslim with terrorism is like a reflex.Don't blame the kid in the street who's had his brain turned to oatmeal by the media. He can practically visualize you holding RPG under one arm right now. Blame those money hungry bastards who corrupted your religious image.AS a side note...Society has turned to crap, and our children into programmed drones. We get so caught up in all our so-called progress that we lose touch of what we truly are. Human :lol:.

  7. Ultimately I don't think it should come down to the drawing or the competition but the simple word "credit" in the question. Credit is a legal matter refreing to ownership. Person A threw the art away so when Person B claims ownership of it. Person A negates his own part in the story the moment he throws it away. Then again he also commited frawd when he posed it as his own artwork.But it's a funny concept. There are alot of things to take into account. And two parties who are equally in the right. I mean if you think about it, both were superior in their own way.

  8. Well the two main factors are the content and your user group. If your content is corporative (by that I mean professional and not flooded with smilies or typos) then you'll be going after a corporative theme. Then again the flash type will need flash themes.

    In terms of your usergroup its the same thing. The flashy type (gamers, anime fans), requires flashy layouts where the corporative worker doesn't want a 500x600 pic of a half naked anime girl in the background.

    I design layouts for mmog's so I use anime orientated layouts, they appeal to almost all mmog players :lol:.

    the only good place I know of that has more than 100 layouts is:

    As a side note..

    You'll probably never be truly unique. The best thing to do is take out the elements out of the layouts you like and play around with them. When all else fails use photoshop and raw up your own graphics modelled on those of the layouts XD

  9. I'm assuming you meant Is There Life Anywhere Else In The Universe

    Otherwise we'd be talking bout beings larger than our entire universe O.O

    @juice

    I'm a member of an amatuer astronomy club in the area in which I live. One night the main man was telling us the possible number of stars in the universe. He held in his hand a plastic container holding 4 grams of sand. He spread them out and counted 1/4 of the sand grains which were 500. the total numer of sand grains were 2000. He then said that a two (2) tonne truck can hold 500 000 000 grains of sand. Now imagine a row of two tonne trucks all loaded with sand bumper to bumper around the equator. Every single grain of sand is a star. We are looking at very large numbers now but that is still a very small number in terms of the universe. Each star may have a body orbiting it (or a planet). It is strange to think that some people actually admit that they think this is the only planet that has life. Of course there is life - you would have to have a very small mind to think so.

    ---

    I believe.

    Great example I had something similar said to me, and still find it ironic how great the percentage of people fit that profile :lol:.

    Anywayz..

    @Sentress

    Though I agree with the majority of your post (pretty nifty facts I might add :() I can't help but comment on.

    Yup. Eight Mass extinction events.

    That's only subject to opinion. Personally I believe there were only 3 normal weather events, and 4+ global shifts that we know of. I'd like to know on what you're basing your statement though. different fields have different data to work with :lol:.

    Life could have developed on Mars. But, it would have been fated to die.

    The same can be said about us. First off we don't know how mars' inhabitants (if there were any) met their end. Secondly there are various possible reasons for their downfall (if the they didn't leave the system at all). Thirdly we don't know when they actually existed, so the planet's conditions could've been very different back then

    Yeah, I believe that logic alone dictates that life should exist out there. Then again deductive reasoning is flawed, ultimately we'll never know till we actually come in contact with extra terrestrials. Till then I'll keep my shotgun loaded :(
