1. Why are you trying these. When there are already so much of free ftp servers are available. And I personally think it is not possible to change it to ftp server. In emails one needs to login by userid and password and any message which is in the inbox can't be shared with others via links. So it is not possible.

There aren't many free FTP servers that you can use without restrictions you know. It would be nice if I could access this space from a FTP client and upload my stuff there instead of slow services like rapidshare.

  2. Hi all
I know there was a post similar to this posted already but my problem is slightly different.

Basically i have a custom built PC which has wrked fine for atleast a year, maybe two, the other day it didnt turn on but i saw a little orange LED inside which meant there was power to it so i inplugged it and plugged it back in at the mains and it booted up fine. I got home today and tried turning it on, same thing happened, nothing. Except the little orange LED which is always on when the computer has power. so i tried the same old trick of unplugging it but this time nothing again. i tried it a few more times and still nothing.

I can think of one thing that the BIOS might be fried but i cant think or a logical explaination as to why. The OS installed is windows xp home, or possibly pro, i dont know of any malware on it as i scanned it fully less than a week ago.

Any ideas? i dont want to have to pay out for a new motherboard and its really annoying because its my PHP machine and this one im on now is a little screwed because i spilt drink on the keyboard and its never forgiven me!

    Thanks

I'm posting late, so you may have already gotten this suggestion:

Try replacing the power supply. If that doesn't work, then there is probably a problem with your mobo. I reccomend switching the parts around to different computers that you have, so you can test with different parts and not have to buy anything new.

  3. when i play video on my computerthe video seems to be delaying, but the audio is smooth
so the whole video is like...the image is slow but the audio is normal
any way to solve this problem???

This can be one of two things. Your CPU is old, and can't handle the stress of your OS and decoding the video on time. The other possibility is that your codecs are outdated, and can't decode the video correctly. Post your computer specs, and I'll do what I can with those.

  4. After a long time tinkering with the source, I've managed to get this far.
The current code for the section I need help on is here:

    <!-- MAIN PANEL// --><table border="0" class="panel" align="top center" width="100%"><td class="head" valign="top">Member's Area</td><td></td><td class="head" valign="top">Site Statistics</td><td></td><td class="head" valign="top">Support Us</td><td></td></tr><tr><td align="left">row 2, cell 1</td></tr><tr><td align="center">row 2, cell 2</td></tr><tr><td align="right">row 2, cell 3</td></tr></table><!-- //MAIN PANEL -->

Can you please explain to me what I'm doing wrong?

  5. Well, I agree with the poster above me...But if you must know, I suggest that you start with something simple such as the Mirage engine (the mother of most modern mmorpg engines). The source is available somewhere, so it can be FULLY customized unlike most of those other more modern versions of Mirage such as Player worlds, and a few others.

  6. I'm running Vista with AERO and all of that running, and it's going pretty smoothly on my dying old (not really) computer. It's current specs are:CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ Single CoreGPU: ATI Radeon 200xpress (built on to motherboard)RAM: 1GB (2x512)HDD: 200GBSound: InternalSo yeah... You should be able to run AERO perfectly, if I can with this piece of crap computer.

  7. I'm running a small Bittorent Tracker and tempory staff file storage server from my house with Cable internet. It's not good for big file transfers, but it'll be okay if your only using it for a few people to access or for something small like a bittorent tracker or remote file access.

  8. [1]What kind of angle do you want it in? And how thick the stripes you want them? And do you want them far apart or close to each other?[2]Find the comments where it says MAIN PANEL in the source. You'll find two divisions. Replace them with a table that has two rows, and three columns. The table should have the class "panel" on it. The columns in the first row should all have the class "head" on them. Then add the following code to the CSS file "style.css":

    table.panel {padding: 3px;margin-bottom: 10px;background: #505405;}td.head {color: #ffd700;display: block;margin-bottom: 3px;padding: 3px;text-align: left;background: #5e6306;font-weight: bold;}
    That should do it.

For the backround, I guess it should just resemble the one currently on my page, but with a different color scheme.

    My current page is: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

And, about the thing that you said I have to do for top to be split into 3... How exactly do I create a table? Sorry... I new to most of this. My HTML isn't as good as it was 2 years ago...

Also, thank you for all of your help. I never would've imagined that I'd get this much help this easily. I thought I'd have to go around searching for help and tutorials and have to put together myself.

  9. Thank you VERY much. That was exactly what I was looking for. The color scheme chnage is okay too. I didn't want it to look like I was copying EVERYTHING.Can I just request a bit of help though?I was wondering... Could you make me a striped backround that matches the color scheme that you made that looks like theirs? And also, can you tell me how to split up the section below the banner into 3 parts? Thank you.

  10. Yes, the "professional" layout currently present at DBZdivx.com can be done with pure CSS--all, except for the banner. The banner (and any affiliate buttons, hehe) is the only thing that can't be done with the help of CSS.
I will see what i can do.

Don't worry about the buttons, I can handle those, and the banner doesn't have to be as good as theirs. All I really need is the basic layout template.

  11. Ooh! Very nice. I like it. I may use it, but I'd like to see what truefusion is able to do first.

Truefusion: If you take on the job, can you try putting the Navigation on the side, and make it look some-what like DbzDivx's "profesional" layout? It doesn't have to be as good, but it would be good if you could get it close to that.
Update!

I just did some research on how the layout that I want to base mine off of is done. I'm pretty sure that it uses some sort of css style sheet, which I know nothing about. I've come to this conclusion from pure speculation, and a bit of testing.

If you could create a css based layout, that would be great. Hopefully it will make it look a lot better.

Also, I've decided to give a few more specifications so you guys don't have to guess when making this. Can you make the font that's mainly used Verdana?
Notice from truefusion:
    Merged.

  12. Wow. The final version of Vista is a lot more stable than the previous builds. I'm using it right now, and it's running very smoothly on my aging computer. All of the drivers except for my soundcard were included and installed themselves perfectly without me having to do anything. Vista seems to be pretty good. The only complaint that I have is about all of the security conflicts whenever I try to access something from my XP partition. That really gets on my nerves.

  13. once again illegal side wins...They are really fast... You can already find all and full versions of Windows Vista on p2p and torentz sites...

As soon as I read about VIsta being done on the internet, I went to a forums that I usually got my VIsta betas from in the past, and guess what? They already had a torrent ready to download, minutes after the story was posted on MSN. Pirates are really fast these days.
