its maybe some weakness of windows xp. but if you compare with windows 2000, Xp is much better. many features of Xp is make us easy and comfort. one of the biggest feature is "plug and play" feature, any other OS can do it?

I think the main point of ashleigh is uploading the CMS, for me its OK if we make/build our website in OFFLINE. we use localhost and local database, use apache or php triad. after its complited all we upload our site in local to our site host. just compres our site (localsite) then uploaded in specified folder. then link your domain name to http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ specified folder

Why you are became so confuse and be a big problem, if you use CMS (content Managing System) its became easy at ALL. just use Joomla, PHPNuke, and Mambo. all of content will generated easyly on your site, without adding scipt or anything, its extreamly easy.

I use mambo too, but its very difficult to get nice free templates for your site, i usually get from my frenz CD, or from Tutorial book in Indonesia, there some nice templates, addons, and also script.

I never use joomla, I think its Ok for trying using it , make comparison with mambo

I ever make comparison between laptop and Pc Desktop with same specs of harddisk, processor and ram, and the result is desktop is much much faster. in the other hand if you want to use laptop for gaming its OK, but its much more expensive than desktop. my laptop ussualy used for games. the specs is centrino 1.7 ghz, ram 256, vga 128 mb, this enough so far. its cost for $888 in indonesia (already completed with MMc reader, DVD Combo, and web cam, XGA widescreen 15"monitor) but I have planning to add ram tobe 512 mb. its much faster absolutely

I ever use 7zip. but its dissapointing me, 'coz any some file that cannot be extracted troughly by this software. its much better use winrar and winzip.

thaks, Great Job. for additional. in my experience (in order to have spee Hard Disk) I usualy make 2 partition C and D. and the space for C is 50% less than D. so Nowdays have 60GB HD. My C drive is 20GB and My d drive is 40Gb. and Its satisfied. further more its become so GREAT if you always Clean-Up your disk and Defrag it regurarely.

Hey, I'm also the newbie in Xisto. first time ts very difficult, but if you try to understand some (not all) of the menu its enough. if you want to get great website, why dont you use CMS like Mambo or joomla. Xisto.com already provide Fantastico feature. so you can upload mambo easier. ( you can acces yoursite at yoursitename.trap17.com/name of mambo file) after its installed its only need little knowledge bout html and php (further more NO NEED I think ) to manage your site. so in Cpanel of Xisto.com I only using 2 features(icons) so far that are fantastico and file manager. no more...

here i am again to ask help about viruses. my mom bought her laptop a few weeks ago (the one i was telling in one of the threads i started here that the dvd drive isn't reading any dvd's) and asked my older brother to copy the images she got using my older brother's digital camera and transfer it to her laptop. when he did that, he realized that the images were infected with viruses so he installed avast antivirus to remove the threats. after he did that when i tried opening the laptop, a message kept popping up saying, "Cannot find C:\Windows\KesenjanganSosial.exe, please specify the correct path and try again". i know it's a worm, but whichever application is using that must be a problem as well. the thing is i've installed avg on the laptop and downloaded the updates and ran a full system scan, but it didn't detect any virus.
do any of you know a better antivirus that could probably solve that? just the free ones of course.

Hi, I think you are Indonesian, coz taht worms(maybe virus) is "made in indonesia" so I suggest you to use PC Media AntiVirus you can buy PC MEDIA Magazine and get the CD. I also use this antivirus (sometimes) in order to kill Brontok or RontokBro virus that already be a monster in Indonesia. try this, hopefully can solve your problem. another Antivirus taht is very Powerfull is AntiVir and Avast (that you already used b4) but update it regularely.
