All religious teachings essentially point at the same thing. Organized religion is a whole other thing.
Are christians more compassionate and spiritual than those who practice other religions?
As I see it, no. Spirituality is an individual matter and doesn't have anything to do with what religious belief you happen to subscribe to. And think about this: Most people don't choose their own religion.
I think that's a good definition of love. Or compassion. And I agree that 'I love you' today is more of a phrase you use to tell someone you need them. But it's also a matter of where and when it's used. On the other hand, if you really love someone you shouldn't need to tell him/her that, at least not all the time. Your actions should make it obvious.
