I think the finer lazer technology will take hold.. .mainly because it is freak'n sweet, and you can fit a lot of junk on one disk. Whether its "blue-ray" or HD-dvd i dont know... But it will come around here. And suposedly pretty soon. I assume thats why all the dual layer dvd drives just droped prices like crazy lately.

Hey, I played around w/ linux about 5 yrs ago but havent done much w/ it since and was just wondering what everyone's opinion was about the different distros. Im looking to get back into it and was wondering what everyone liked?

I think the psp will be cool and its prolly a good pick because we know what its going to be like... a playstation. But the DS sounds pretty sweet too. Almost more like a pocket pc with the touch screen thing. I prolly wont get one, (because all my friends will) but it will be cool to play it

I've got 2 HD's, 2 partitions on first, 15gig for windows/office/just like that, and the other 65 gig is for games, big programs, music movies.... My other hd is a 40 gb, for whatever..website, downloads..whatever.

I just started Using Mambo for my website, but i havent really got it optimized for search engines. I was just wondering what everyone uses to get search engines to search there site more. I'v heard that site maps help a lot. I was just wondering what everyone does. Thanks

I used to have a cassiopea e-500, but i sold it to get my paintball gun . But now thinking about geting an axim x50v. Because of the VGA screen. It can get 480x640 resolution. which is crazy sweet. And its got 16mg of video memory. Its just more expencive than most. Its like $499 US. but you can get coupons if you search around hard enough and get it for around 400 to 430.

It is sooooo sweet. You can pickup anything, well .. anything thats not to big (your not superman). Its kinda futureistic, but not so bad that it makes it lame, like 5-10 years or something. And the government has taken over kinda... i think. I didnt really pay attention alot to the storyline... i just wanted to shoot some stuff. Its pretty sweet throwing a barral at someone and then shooting it and making it blow up .

I know i dont know jack about html or php. But It seems to me (in my recent learning experiences) that php would be a better us of time.. because with WYSIWYG you dont need to know much html. Also.. with CSS and PHP you can make an entire site with verylittle html. Just my thoughts... (coming from a person that doesnt know jack )

I think usb is sweet for everything but digital video and mass file transfers.. usb was sposed to be way faster than firewire... but its not.

How old is this card, maybe its fighting wth something else. You could try removing other components (modem, network card....etc) and see if it will boot with the sound... but with out other component. You could also check the conflicks in device manager... that usually doent happen in xp though... so... Good luck

I've got a TI-89 too, without it i would be so dead. Im an engineering student and one of our motto's are "TI-89 or DIE" ... oK so its not really a moto, but whatever. I have a couple of friends that have reverse polish HP's. There suposed to be better, and reverse polish is suposed to be quicker too.. if you wanna learn it. But i know the 89 so..... 89 OR DIE!

I've used WS_ftp pro, aceftp and cuteftp, and i've found ws works good but is slower than ace. Ace has always been the fastest out of all 3, cuteftp just kinda... welll its there. But sometimes ace wont work.. wont be able to login, like when the server is bogged down really bad. But WS_ftp pro will basically always work, but will be really slow. So if i cant get a login with ace, then i use ws. But ace is quicker so it is my preffered ftp program. I've never tried core.. i might have to. (edit)I've now tried flashfxp, and smartftp.. and i think that flash is good. Sometimes I cant get it to log on and then i go back to ws_ftp. But those 2 are my favorites. Not a big fan of ACEFTP any more.

some time ago I'we found homemovie on net, about amd & pentium processors. they take down amd's fan while playing Unreal, and take down pentium's fan while playing Unreal too. So, what do you think what came up? AMD's screen just scrambled, and blue screen show up few secs after fan was removed from processor, and white smoke rised from it.. And pentium processor? he just continue it's work with Unreal, with just few framerates less....

So, when you choose your processor, think twice.

 

Before 3-4 years, i had an old pentium 200MMX. I left it one night to rune some test's all night long.. in the morning all was little slowed down, and when i open tower chasis, found that cpu cooler/fan is dead - and cpu still working - more than 7-8 hours without pauses at maximum overload.

So, agan, when you choose your cpu, think twice.

 

And if you choose amd, make damn shure you can cool it right and safe. But if you get pentium, prepare for paying for it ofcourse...

this is prolly tested from the older cpu's though. The amd thunderbird series runns really hot, but the xp's are not quite as hot, and im pretty sure the 64-bit chips even run cooler. And I think the newer intell's chips will fry now adays too if you take the fan and junk off. That particular intel chip that you saw in the home video was prolly the initial petium 4's (i think) that had (or still have, cant remember) a thing where if it got too hot it would just turn down the clock speed. This was great and all but what if it turned it down when you had the fan and heat sink hooked up. It would cause poor performance.

 

I know that my computer, amd XP 2100+ hasnt had any cooling problems. I even accedentally unhooked the fan and it stayed like that for 2 days.. including all night. And nothing is wrong with it.

 

And if your worried about your fan crappin out and then your system fry'n, most motherboards, now adays, monitor that stuff and when it gets too hot, the mobo shuts down.

 

So after all that, I choose AMD. For better performance, and price.

Im a big fan counterstrike (and all its mod's) Americans army, unreal turny... Basically 1st person shooters. Americas army is the most realife though i think. The grenades are sweetest. Counterstike is prolly the fastest paced (realistic, unlike unreal turny) but battle field 1942 has sweet large maps and vehicles... So i spose i dont have a favorite between them all.
