Aprecitate themAbout the making of the site, i used Flash for the animation of course, Fireworks for the picture retouching, the interface (the metal panels, all of them) i made them in 3DS max cause i really wanted something rusty and old, and there was no way to find a pic like that and the shape i wanted.And i aslo use Adobe Audition to shrink the backgroun sound to a loop.About the download section i been pretty busy but i just finished making like 3 wallpapers so i m gonna put them anytime soon.thanks again cya

Thanks for all your comments, i really apreciate them.About the loading times, well i live in el salvador, and here mos people dont have a very fast connection, so when i do a website i always have to care a lot about sizes, and loading times, wich put me some limits in the design.But since this site was oriented to people living in the us and canada, i thought i could go a little further with sizes, but even i did bigger movies, the loading times still very reazonable.Damm glad that you liked the site, and thanks for al your comments.cya

Wup guys, well, first let me tell you that i am really really proud of this website i just made, not only for what it represents to our clan, by the way is a CLAN SITE (call of duty 2) but believe me when i tell
you that its a clan site like you never saw one before, but also im proud of it cause its SOOOOOOO NICE
Since the call of duty 2 game is about the world war 2, the site needed to be like old rusty, something to be accor to the world war 2.

Its fully flash, but the loading times are great. Nice look, nice sounds, nice navigation.

I know it sounds a little to cocky for me to tell, lol lol, but i am proud of it, so i guess i have the right to showmyself.


Right now the only problem are the gramatical errors, cause my first language is spanish and i cant write very well in english, but other than that ITS COOLLL

Dude i hate when that happens, in fact it happened to me yersterday for the firs time, in our CLAN SERVER lol, it was the first time this guy came into our server, at least the first time i saw there, firts game we was in the same team and i beat him in score, next game he went in the other team i was totally owning, 20 kill rampage, i kill the guy several times and then he acuse me of cheating cause he saids that in the kill cam i was following him, the dude its pretty stupid if i was hacking all my kills ill follow people trough walls not only one time. Plus if the guy read our forum he will see that even a member who we were suspicous of hacking we made a pollo if he were gonna be banned.But the lame thing is that the guy disconnect from the server and came back with wallhack on, and start to chasing me lol, since he couldn kill me he needed the wallhack, and even with wallhack i own him several times.his caln was E.S.F somethinglame guy.PUNKBUSTER WE NEED YOU

Wup i just finished sweeping my pc with spysweeper, cause a spyware totally infected my pc, the damm thing disabled my wallaper, i could only change a color, plus damaged norton, change my home page, and installed a spysherrif program that was supposed to removed the spyware, of course you need to buy it, plus installed a thing that every3 minutes show me a message in the minitray(righ down corner), like if it was from windows, that tells me that my pc is infected.SpySweeper apparently removed all the thing, but i still cant change my wallpaper, someone please hellp me, what can i do?pleasecya

You made the header with flash 8 right? Well if you just published your movie then you published it in Flash Player 8, if your buddy has Flash Player 7 he wont be able to see the header.You cand do two things, make your buddy to download the flash player 8 or you can publish the same header in Flash Player 7, you just go to File>Publish settings> in the flash option you can choose in wich flash player your movie will be published.The only problem is that if you used some of the new effects in flash 8 like, blur, glow, but i saw your movie and i dont think you used any of them.Hope i helped

To me UNREAL kick quake **bottom**, unreal weapons, graphics, levels are better then quakes, just try to play unreal and inmediatlly after play quake and youlll feel the difference, quake feels is like old, i do play it and its fun but unreal is awesome, plus the sounds, unreal rocks

Im back again with what i think it would be an interesting tutorial for all of you guys who wants to take flash out of the web and make really cool interactive CDS.

 

First of all if all of you are thinking right now: "this dude is wrong for making interactive cds you have to use macromedia Director", well you are right macromedia director it's used to build interactive cds and dvds among other things, but you can also make interactive cds with Flash, the thing is: if you want to make a simple interactive CD you can totally do it with flash, of course Director brings cool features like 3d Models handling, cool video integration (not a huge problem with flash) and some other things, but flash it's pretty capable of doing a really cool interactive cd.

 

Ok lets get down to business.

 

Basically the building of the cd it's the same as if you was building a website, you cand do the same things in the same way, but there are a few things and code you need to have mind in order to get the full potencial of flash.

 

First of all while making the CD you dont have to worry about the size like if you was making a website, since the purpose of the movie its to be in a cd, NOT WORRYING about sizes and loading times really gives your imagination no limits, you can use videos, all sorts of pics, and frame by frame pics animations, etc...

 

Knowing that, the first thing you need to do is to set the right publishing format, why do you need to that? Well if you put your swf movie directly into the cd if the user who's watching the cd dont have Flash (not flash player) installed he wont be able to see it, unless you put the swf into an html, but since you are making a CD there's no point in looking your animation in the web browser, that why you need to do this:

 

Go to :

1- File

2- Publish settings..

3- Check Windows Projector (.exe) option

 

What this does is that when you normally publish your movie like if you was doing a website, flash will generate a yourmoviename.exe , this file wont need Flash to be installed in the machine in order to be able to play it, this exe file is the one you are going to burn directly into the CD.

 

 

Now that we have the right publishing format lets take a look into some scripts that will help you to make a nice interactive cd:

 

and that script it's called fscommand, right now you only need to know that this script it's used to comunicate with the standalone player that goes embeded into the exe file that you generate, but this script it's a powerfull script that let you communicate with other softwares.

 

This are the variations of the fscommand script that i'm going to explain:

 

fscommand("fullscreen", );

fscommand("allowscale", );

fscommand("quit");

fscommand ("exec", );

 

Let's go one by one.

 

fscommand("fullscreen", );

 

What this variation do it's self explenatory, what it does is that make your movie fullscreen, no borders, and there two different parameters that you can put into "true" to make it fullscreen, and "false" to make the movie go back to it's normal size.

 

fscommand("fullscreen", true); // this make the movie fullscreen.

fscommand("fullscreen", false); // this make the movie go back to the normal size.

 

You can attach this script to a button or just put it into the first frame of the movie if you want your movie to be fullscreen from the very beginning.

 

 

fscommand("allowscale", );

 

Ok lets say that you used the the fullscreen command with this new variation you can tell flash how to react to the fullscreen command, you can allow flash to scale the content of your movie to the size of the screen, if your movie contains pictures they will be pixelated so it wont be a very good idea, or you can tell flash to go fullscreen but leave the content of you movie to its normal size.

 

fscommand("allowscale", true); // this allows flash to scale your content (not a good idea if you have pics in your movie)

 

fscommand("allowscale", false); // this tells flash to not resize your movie, just your backgroung color will be resized to fit the screen.

 

This script is usefull only if used the fullscreen command, so they need to be in the same frame.

 

 

fscommand("quit");

 

This command quit the standalone player, if you set your movie to be fullscreen, once the user is actually watching the movie, it can be a little confusing since there are no close buttons, and thats when this command become helpfull. There are no parameters in this command.

 

 

fscommand("quit"); // inmediatly close the standalone player

 

you can attach this command to a button or just put it in a frame.

 

 

fscommand ("exec", );

 

This particulary command it's really nice cause it gives us the oportunity to make movies communicate with other programs. Cause of hacking problems this command was restricted by flash, now you only can open exe files that are stored in a folder named :"fscommand" that you need to make it in the root folder where your movie is stored. In other words you need to make a folder named "fscommand" in the same folder where your movie is. The only parameter that you put in, is the name of the exe.

 

 

fscommand(exec,nameof.exe); // this will of the nameof.exe file that is in the fscommand folder.

 

you can attach this script to a button

 

 

Well this are the fscommand script uses, i hope you find this tutorial helpfull if you ar planning to make a interative cd with flash.

Man.. I just can't imagine playing a strategy game on any type of console without a mouse lol. I so got used to playing my strategies with a mouse that switching to an analog or a ps2 controller would be imossible for me. Plus there is an issue of PS2 graphics and the TV screen. You'd have to sit really close to your TV to see all the "people" on the screen and this isnt very good for the eyes. So if you think of buying Age of Empires for your PS2, go find a PC version and ull be much happier with it.

Well.. i use one of my PCs for gaming and school related stuff like essays and research. Another pc is used to run a COD2 server that i usually play on lol.

Not really the best place to advertise your hosting company since uve got a huge competition coming from Xisto. Website look nice though.

I've played Call of Duty since the day it came out. The multiplayer is just too addictive. Once Call of Duty: United Offensive came out i immediatelly got it and played it until COD2 hit the shelves. Now im running a COD2 server. I just hate that COD2 doesnt have Punk Buster yet. The damn cheaters abuse the game too much and everyone accuses me of hacking since im too good for them.
