  1. Don't be so stupid as to say 'omg I well hate harry potter - I watched the movies and they were boring so I just didn't bother with it ever again! its just for kidz lolz'That's simply ridiculousThe books are almost completely separate things from the moviesMOST people who have read the books dislike the movies anywayI agree completely that the Harry Potter films are made for a young audienceAnd books 1 and 2 are also made for a young audienceBut beyond that the books contain some quite adult themes, and were definately written with a more 'young adult' audience in mind. In shortPeople who have only seen the movie, you have no idea whether or not you like Harry Potterbecause Harry Potter is a character in a book. The films are nothing like it =)

  2. What do you reckon the 6 horcruxes will be then...Obviously we know the diary was oneAnd the locket from the Black house was probably the one dumbledore and Harry went to findThe ring that dumbledore destroyed (we don't know much about that really)Something of ravenclaws, hufflepuffs and gryffindors?Dumbledore thinks that voldemort used nagini the snake to kill the old man in the riddle house and then turned her into a horcrux, because voldemort was one horcrux short when he went to kill Harry. Dumbledore also thinks that voldemort planned to make a horcrux with harrys death, by doing so he would have sealed himself as immortal. However there is the theory that something went wrong, voldemort turned harry/harry's scar into a horcrux. Thus splitting his soul in 7... hence he lost his powers (7 is powerful and magical and dumbledore pointed this out saying no one had ever split their soul in that many pieces before)What do you all think?

  3. !!YES! YES! YES! YES!
finally someone who agree's with me..i also think that snape is good...but anyways, if you cant tell judgin by my signature, and my username i am absoloutly in love with harry potter!! they are the only books that i will ever read and enjoy readin..and i dont like reading anything...except the harry potter books of course..but they are awsome and i dont give a ratsleft kidney who doesn't like it

Of course snape is good, and of course dumbledore is alive hehe
    Can't wait for book 7
Until then, I will quench my thirst for more Harry Potter, by visiting websites and seeing if anyone else thinks harry is a horcrux

  4. I think it would be amazing if Rowling wrote a book or two on Snapes life.I would love to find out about his childhood, miserable as it must have been..To hear things from his point of view... to read Rowling making Harrys dad and Sirius into people we could dislike, simply by seeing things Snapes way.I'd love to read how Snape reaallly felt about making the unbreakable vow, and about his time working as a 'spy' for both voldemort and Dumbledore..It would make a good read =)

  5. Alright now here is MY theory on the whole "Snape is innocent, no shut up, he's guilty" thing:
I was reading a transcript of an interview that J.K. Rowling gave to some newspaper or magazine, I'm not sure which, but it was about the guy asking her if she liked Prisoner of Azkaban, the movie.

According to Rowling, she got "goosebumps" after watching it because it revealed a major spoiler for later in the series (i.e., book seven). Today, I was watching Prisoner of Azkaban and I figured out that part.

Remember near the end when Lupin is transforming into a werewolf, and he is about to attack Ron, Harry, and Hermione? Well, at this point the book, Snape was still unconscious from the disarming spell that Harry had used against him in the Shrieking Shack. However, at this point in the movie, when Lupin is about to pounce on the Trio, Snape suddenly runs in front of them and blocks them from Lupin.

Why would Snape do this? Why would he show any compassion for Harry or his friends in the face of terrible danger?

The answer? Because he was under orders from Dumbledore to do so. He could've easily let Lupin devour them and run off for himself, but he didn't.

Arguements: But what if he was just saving Harry so that Voldemort could use him in his revival at the end of Goblet of Fire?

Answer: Because even if Snape was on the Death Eaters' side, he would not have known about the plan. Voldemort started planning his revival at the beginning of Goblet of Fire, and the only person he told was Peter Pettigrew (aka wormtail).

I might be wrong, but I'd like to hear your opinion on my theory!

P.S. This also supports another theory that I read on the Xisto Forum, the theory of Snape being in love with Lily Potter and protecting Harry as owing her a favor.

    Notice from BuffaloHELP:
Please use proper English for topic title. We have dedicated Book discussion section. Moving from General Talk to Books.

I think you could very well be right.
I also support the 'Snape loves Lily' argument. It makes perfect sense.
I've said before, it's been made out too obvious that Snape is a bad guy, for him to actually be bad.
    He's like a pantomime villain...
But each time they have suspected Snape of being up to no good, they have always been wrong.
Snape is usually going out of his way to protect Harry... this may be to do with feeling 'endebted' to Harrys father, thought I doubt it, it may be more to do with him being Lily's son.
    As for Snape killing dumbledore...
Theres the theory that Dumbledore never really died
The theory he was already dying and Snape and Dumbledore had reached an agreement to kill him off that way (it would 'proove' snapes loyalty in the eyes of voldemort)
The theory that dumbledore had ordered Snape to and he did it despite not wanting to
(however, that theory seems to be wrong, as it has been stressed over and over to us you cannot use an unforgivable curse without sincerely and wholly wanting to relish in the consequences it would cause)

Of course, we could all be looking way too much into this.
It is still a childrens book
And ultimately, in childrens book, the guy whos being made out to be a bit evil, is usually a bit evil
Snape could have killed dumbledore, and dumbledore is properly dead

Personally I can't wait to find out!

Don't you think it would be MUCH more interesting if Rowling wrote books on Snapes life...
    I would quite like that
We would get to know where he truely stood on certain matters
And how cruel his childhood really was for ihm =(

  6. I have a theory. I'm pretty sure of this one so here goes:
I think Snape was actually in love with Lily Potter.

    I agree with you completely.
I think it's been hinted at a few times that Snape has a thing for Lily.
Remember Slughorn talking about how good Lily was at potions too... so Snape and Lily had something in common, however if we look back at snapes memory Harry found in the pensieve, Snape did call her a mudblood.
I think that may have been more out of resentment to James than anything else though.
I think one of the reasons Snape can't stand Harry is because he looks so much like the thing that he was so jealous of. Harry is the result of James's relationship with Lily, and to Snape it must be like having it rubbed in his face every time Harry is around.
I am fairly sure that Snape is not a bad guy though... It's been made too obvious throughout the books... he's been described pretty much like a pantomime 'baddy' you would shout BOOOO at hehe
I think he will come through in the end.
I also think that Malfoy may change in the last book..
I think for Malfoy it's been pretty much like 'yeah I can do this, my dads a death eater, I can be too, killing will be no problem' but then when it came down to it, he realised he wasn't quite as prepared as he thought he was..
Malfoy may yet be saved =)
