Are you serious?! Is CMU really so hard? I'm apply there next month as undergrad. I heard sleep, social life, grades, pick two for caltech, not for CMU...What major are you in? But other than the time crunch, how's the school? How's the weather there (heard it's really cold). Is it that bad *gulp*

What? Never heard of Natural Selection?! It's a halflife mod available free if you got HL, CS, etc. at http://unknownworlds.com/ A little background: It's a combition of First person shooter (FPS) and real time strategy (RTS) games! It's marines vs Aliens, two gaming modes. Combat resembles CS style, while NS mode requires both team communication, teamwork, strategy, and superb aim, and skills. There is a large learning curve to this game, I agree. If you're interested, download it and try out combat mode first. WE CAN TEACH YOU. Oh cmon, you guys. The classics are the best:1. Starcraft (broodwar)2. CounterStrike3. Natural Selection - HL mod. These games... you can play them forever and they barely get old.

I've played CS:S during its beta testing period (only 1 map = de_dust). It is a lot like the old CS, except better graphics sounds. I don't think there were many new weapons when I played. In fact, it resembled a lot of 1.5. But one cool thing about CS:S is that like if you see a can on the ground, u can shoot at it and it'll fly around. And depending on your angle, the shootoff angle changes too. If you shoot at crates, dust will actually fly around. So It's a lot more realistic. (oh yea, can't forget u can shoot at dead bodies)The new CS:Source needs to be bought, so it's not free unless u wait till HL2 comes out and buy that or something. If I were you I won't buy CS:S now, wait till they optimize it and make it cheaper.
