At first download Apache from http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Download will take place 30 secs over a broadband connection & installation will take 1 minute. Now unpack the exe where ever you want. After you unpack & run serverinst.exe and change Servername and your e-mail. Then start the following files one by one: start_apache.cmd --> start apache as service; mysql_start_as_service.cmd --> dito for mysql; mysql_first_start.cmd --> start mysql now. Open your browsert and insert: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Now you must see the start site. Call phpmyadmin at http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and change the password for the root and change the rights for the other user. This is the time of Testing: Call: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/--&; local from you're computer. You can also call : LOCALHOST (this is the same as http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) to enter you're site remotely you need to know you're IP : get this on : https://www.whatismyip.com/. When you enter this IP in the browser, you can acces your site from around the world. We need a free domein of course. Go to dot.tk to get one and refere to your IP. You'll find a map named public_html. Imagine you have 10 sites to host so you'll have to make 10 maps insite the map public_html. Let's say we name the maps 1,2,3,4,.... (you can name them whatever you like) and lets say our IP is : 1111.2222.3333.4444. (Get this on : https://www.whatismyip.com/) So imagine we want to call remotely site number 8 for example: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ (http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/) You can not use FTP to remotly acces you're host (public_html map). To enable this we have to download a FTP server. Here's a list of free ones: http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/. Set for your ftp server public_html map as root. And you're done. Congratulations, with you're hosting company! Important note for the newbies : Your computer has to be turned on otherwise you can't access the server remotely. And if you use a router you'll need more experience to call the server remotely (from the internet), but it is still posible to use it as a testing server [locally, LOCALHOST]. The benefit in case of a router is that you can use the server as a intranet site. To know you're ip with a router, open dos prompt (cmd in xp) and type : ipconfig. To stop the server: apache_stop.cmd -> Stop apache; apache_remove_service.cmd --> Remove the service from apache; mysql_shutdown.cmd --> Dito for mysql. Arnab Ghosh

Strategic search engine optimization involves far more than keyword research, META tags and content. If you want to mange an SEO program, you need to be aware of any issue that can affect your success. Domain name management is one of the big factors. Effective domain name management is critical because you could end up getting banned from Google and other search engines if you take the wrong approach. Why would Google ban you? In the spirit of fair play and providing depth in its results, Google frowns on duplicate content. Some web site owners purchase multiple domains and copy their content for both domains. They figure they may land the #1 and #2 positions that way. That may be the companys goal, but its not very valuable for the Internet searcher. Even if you dont maintain your identical content with two or more domains, you can still run into problems. Its possible to update just one set of web pages, but have them look like duplicates because of how the domain names are administered. You may be risking everything if someone enters http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/and http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/ and they see the same content even if they pages reside in only one location. Many web site owners redirect one domain to the next rather than configure the server to associate the core content with a second domain name. In many cases, a 301 redirect is your best bet. Its a server-side redirect most administrators can handle in a few minutes. In effect, its a proper way of telling search engines to ignore one domain and favor another. You may have many good reasons for owning multiple domains, including brand protection. Some companies get extra domains on the off-chance that someone may simply try a domain name and see what comes up. A classic example is 1-800-FLOWERS.COM. One of their domains is .... as well. The Bottom Line If you secure more than one domain, redirect the extras to your main web site (on the server) or use the extra domains for unique content (showcasing a line of products of services).
