This was inspired by the other guys post about the speed of light.

 

So the new thing is using light waves to do computing =)

 

Of course it isnt really working yet but I thought it was really cool so i figured i would post something here.

 

The basic working thing is that you supercool atoms to within a few degrees of absolute zero. Then you send a beam of light through them - and - viola, a baby can crawl faster than light.

 

What happens is that as the light wave passes through the frozen atoms its speed is dramitcally reduced. So much so that the speed of light goes from 186,000 miles per second to 1 mile per hour!

 

Scientists are able to control how long the light wave is held at the speeds the determine and which direction it goes in afterwards. So imagine your hardrive or something being a mini-freezer that slows light down - does computations - and send its along on its merry little way. Talk about super-computing.

 

They have been able to control a light pulse so much that it seems to fade and then stop, then starts up again whenever its called. The process doesnt involve stopping the actual photons. What happens is that the information about the light wave is rapidly stored in special atoms that are trapped with a glass tube. Then when the light needs to be manipulated the photon information is turned into a replica of the original wave and sent where it needs to go.

 

It taps into the heart of Quantum Mechanics to create the ultimate computer.

 

Einstein argued that light speed was the absolute limit of speed in the universe. So technically if you used a computer that operated at light speed it would be the fastest computer in the universe =)

 

You could play World of Warcraft 24/7 and never have a single stich of lag in IronForge!! WOOT That right there is a reason to get a light-speed compy.

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i am stunned i hear about them the first time!!! that the heck but oh my god i was thinking about something like that after 20 years!!! thats a new think .

well max pain is a good game it looks like matrix but i think its too dark you know its like i dont know i just think something is missing. I know it has a great graphic, sound and all that stuff but i really prefere matrix and now when there are matrix online well it was a long time ago but who cears so now when there is matrix online i dont think max payn has a chance to be as good as it was before well mabey creators will decide to make max pain 3 who knows mabey it will be better thaa matrix but now i think that no game is better than matrix online well mabey exept WOW i like it even better you should play world of the warcraft its really good game if you know where to get free servers well i know.

its a pretty old game so its cheap like 20$ its fun you get to use the whip and the revolver the story of the game is u gotta find some jewels and stuff i cant rememeber for sure cuz i got stuck on one of the bosses and cant beat him so i stopped playin but is a pretty fun game and its got some good challenges although i doubt to many ppl like indiana jones on the forums

i know i had this game i liked it in the beginning but after thats it gets bored almoast the same levels well you know gatta find something and so on.

A couple of months ago I bought this very cool game from a store, because I absolutely love the first game of Mortal Kombat. I like how the game is built right into a controller and you don't even need a game system or anything to play it. I've loved it since it first came out. And I still play it every single day and I truly feel like I am playing an arcade game with the way the controller is designed. And the game play is so easy. And yeah the graphics of the game are not all that great but it's just so much fun playing this great game again I love it. I love it most when I fight Reptile and Shang Tsung. Always my 2 favourite fights in the game.

 

And I am also wondering has anyone else bought this plug in and play game or others like it and seeing how you like these nifty little controllers?

well yeah its a really great game and really old too i wonder why they arent making new ones on PL2 there are plenty of them so why they are not doing it on PC?i don't know that crazey its really good game and the same part a lot of years not comming new one.

Too bad the had to stop making the movies, but the games are still awesome. I like playing the two towers, and the return of the king. I havn't gotten the battle for middle earth game yet but I heard it is really good. *cheers for LOTR*

you bet its really good battle for the middle earth. i had two towers but i had illegal version so i couldn't go too far cuz there was mistakes you know but BFM earth is great i know i have seen trailer you should see too if you havent seen it yet.

What do you guys think about BF2? The graphics, from what i have seen, are amazing, but for optimum play you need a powerful graphics card, and I mean powerful!

i agree thats the mine problam if you wanna play good games you have to have a very powerfull computer and now its very fast developing around computers so practicly if you want to play all the best games you have to have hell a lot money.

this game is good one i didn't play it for a long time but it was fun its really good i suggest for everybody to try it.

Agreed. fighting games are fun but i prefere like adventures but i don't say. to kill the time fighting games are the best and its most popular games was and will be.

internet is a big box with 50% unneeded information.

well i always wnted to create a game i even strted programming with delphi and other programs but i saw that for me it takes too much time i don't like that i like everything fast.thats me. well about themes you need forum themes or website?well and that and that are on the internet for free you don't need a programmer for themes you just need to look a little.

in the internet everything is possible to download if you know how to do it well i think its legal well who cears its legal or not till you are not planning to sell something.

cool website well my school doesn't have a website wel i don't think it should cuz it would be more easier for my parnts if you know what i mean... lol

i hate popups it just driving me crazy but most of all i hate that windows which goes after you exit some websites.
