  1. Thank you. The aqua effect was created by using different brushes and different placements of brushes. Then putting the color balances in different places between the multiple layers. This way a red color balance would be hidden by some brushes on top but would cover the ones underneath it. The color balance on the top would take care of the layers that arent lit by the red color balance.
  2. Okay, are you ready to make a cool sig? Well I'm here to teach you how to make a sig like this Well for starters, we want to make the background. toolbar 1)First create a new file with the demensions of 400 width and 150 height pic 2)Next, you want to make the background background, you can acomplish this by using the paint bucket tool and clicking on the picture. 3)Now we want some good brushes. I used the WW 11 brush which is not availible online anymore(If anyone has a place I can store the file, tell me so I can put the download like here) pic 4)Now with any brush, use the white color and just make 2-4 strokes. pic 5)After you do that, make a new layer (Crl Shft + N) pic to make a new layer pic for switching colors. Use the black color now and use a different brush. Make 2-3 strokes again. Make a new layer again, alternating between black and white and the brushes. Keep repeating until you have about 13 or 14 layers. 6)Now we are going to add some colors. Select the topmost layer. Go to Layer --> New Adjustment Layer --> Color Balance. Now mess around with the hue. color balanceRemember to put on preview so you can see what you are doing. 7) Once you have that done, select a couple layers underneath the topmost one and do the same with color balance only with a different hue this time. Afterwards, move the ColorBalance layer around up and down through the layers until you get it to look just the way you want. Now we have to put your render in. A render is the character that you want to have for the sig. A very good place to find sigs is GameRenders. 1)So you've got you render, open it in a new file, keeping your background file open. 2)Resize the picture you want. I suggest making it so you only cover half of the background. I also advise against making your whole render fit inside your backgound, otherwise it will look too small. If its a humanoid shape, my suggestion is that you make it so just the head and some of the body shows. If its not, just resize if so it will look good in a sig. 3)Next, in your file with the render, right click the layer with the pictre and click duplicate. duplicate pic Under Document and Destination choose the file with the background. 4)Now in the file with the background the render should come up. Using the 'Move arrow', move it to where you want it to be in the sig. and your set with that. OPTIONAL: If you want to blend the render with the background, make a trace arounf the render with the lasso tool. Then go to Select --> Feather. pic Make the range about 20-40. One its feathered, on the layer windows, click on the mask button (Rectangle with a white circle). If done correctly the outline should blend with the background, Now for the Text effect This is the easiest thing to do in the sig. 1)Use the testbox tool to put your title, name, identity, etc. in a text. 2)Rightclick the text layer in the layer window and click rastertize(sp?) 3)Duplicate and the drag the new layer underneath the original pic 4)While selecting the copied layer and go to EDIT --> Transform --> Flip Veritcal pic 5)Drag the text alittle underneath the original. pic 6)Now using the rectangular marquee tool select the lower-half of the copied text. Do the feathering teqnique but this time do only about 20 pixels. pic Then go to Edit --> Clear. Viola! You've created (or hopefully come close to make a ) an abstract sig. I know this tutorial might be alittle confusing so If you are stuck at any part, just PM me or just ask here and I'll do my best to rephrase it. EDIT: Put in pictures due to a request
  3. I don't understand how people cannot understand the interface. Eveything is pretty straitforward. If you still dont get it, there are themes you can use to change the interface. This problem might be caused by a virus. Spyware is also known for slowing down browsers considerably. If its not one of those reasons, its probably a bug with the computer because this never happend to me. You can always turn off the pop-up blocker Just right click the download in the downloads window and click open containing folder. If its not that, you might have accidentaly clicked to open the download. I think that Firefox is definatly for the public. Its more secure than Internet Explorer and for my computer, its faster. Also, it has the ability to use add-ons. I don't think you can do that with Internet Explorer.
  4. No problem. I have a question to everyone though. You see that the guy is going to shoot a laser beam at the end right? How would I make that look more realistic?
  5. Well the drawing from the frame before carries over to the next frame, so you just need to modify it alittle.
  6. I learned from my computer programming class from high school. At first, they teach you of the importany tags. Then they teach you how to make paragraphs and borders. Simple things like that. Lastly, they taught about some of the more complex features such as tables, forms, buttons, etc.(I don't consider those complex anymore since I practiced them many times) After I switch from notepad to DreamWeaver, I started making pages much faster and with greater ease.
  7. Hello. I am here to teach you how to do something called "Rotoscoping" in Flash MX. Rotoscoping is when you take movie (cartoon or real) and make a more cartoony version of it. The first step in Flash Rotoscoping is to decide which movie you are going to rotoscope. Try to pick a simple movie at first, one with not much movement. Also try to pick one that doesn't change scenes too quickly or else it will get confusing to the person watching. Once you find your movie, go to File-Import-Import To Stage. After this, you will be prompted to choose the movie you want embedded. I would suggest leaving all the settings the way they are. If you choose to do the high settings, it might take a while to import it. After you complete the previous step, you will see the movie is put on the first layer. Right now, you want to lock the layer so when you draw later, it wont move it around. Next you make a 2nd Layer on top of the movie layer. At this point you should name your layers just because I will refrence them by their names: Rotoscope and Movie. Now once you rename your layers, go to the part of the movie you want to rotoscope. Here comes the fun yet massivly boring part. Once you get to the part of the movie you want to rotoscope, insert a keyframe. After you insert the keyframe take out your trusty pen and start tracing. I wouldn't suggest making it really detailed or it will take forever to do. For your first time, just do it as simple as you can. You finished it? Congradulations, you just finished the 2nd to hardest part. After you trace everything, insert a frame (f5) and convert that into a keyframe (f6). Heres the hard part, you have to make all the changes to your last picture into this one. This is why I suggested doing a simple movie at first. Once you make all the changes, repeat the process until you reach the point to where you want to stop. Heres the fun part. After you finish all you painstaking work, delete the Movie layer. Now you will see alot of blank frames before the point of where you started your movie.(If you started near the middle) Delete these frames until only your movie frames are up. Finnally, you test your movie and see what a great job you did. Give yourself a pat in the back because your finished. Here is my movie. I did not color mine, but I suggest that you color yours in so it wont look confusing. I added some animation at the end. Tell me if you still need further help on this topic. I would be glad to show you some pictures or to clarify on what I have said.
  8. I also suggest MMORPGs. Most of the famous games on the internet(free or not) are in that genre. With free games on the internet, have a game similair to runescape(runescape.com). If you want to make a p2p game, make one like Everquest.(Gigantic worlds alot of quests) For both situtations, I suggest that you have a team with you. It will be next to impossible to make a good one just by yourself.
  9. Thanks alot Darren. I was really confused about that process. I thought you just needed alot of Page views to up your ranking. I;ve heard that if you pay google, sometimes they may make your page a higher rank on certain searches. Can anyone please confirm this?
  10. I thing you are describing the end of the world in most of your statements Darren. I always crack up on the different theories about it. Anyway, you have a very good possibliliy on the 3rd point you made It can be the very fate of the internet at the end.
  11. Well qwijibow, that isn't always true. Some java script can be on the source code and then you will have some trouble. Some people who password protect their sites use and inefficient javascript method. Someone could just get in by doing the wrong password and then looking in the source code for the right one.
  12. Flash MX does that. When you make a new keyfram, it keeps the drawing on the previous fram and transfers it to the new one. I would suggest only using Flash MX to make GIFs because other GIF makers are hard to use and sometimes(like you said) they dont carry over the drawing from the previous keyframe.
  13. I suggest everything that zandramas says. I also suggest that you make a downloads section. It can be anything random but usefull. I don't know about other people, but I like downloading new stuff just for the sake of trying it out. A nice thing to have for a site is a certain theme. Make it about video games or something else you like.
  14. Well how fo you know that it was an American who made that post? The internet can't have an end. It is just like a gigantic web or computers interconnected. Just because you destroy 1 source, you have millions more to go. Unless there is a massive EMP bomb used that can cover the whole globe, you canot destroy the internet.
  15. Hello. I am trying to use a program called 3-D GameStudio which allowes me to make 3d games. I have had this program for 4 days now an I have heard alot of good comments about this application. For me model-making is just too hard. Can anyone help me find a good tutorial on how to make models on 3-D Gamestudio. I tryed the instuctions on the manual but that only helps me with the most basic of shapes. I need to learn how to make shapes that can be formed into a mouth or something along those line.
