I think impossible to be infected by viruses a bit of a stretch... One of the reasons many less common operating systems have sooo fewer problems with viruses is that there are simply less people looking to infect computers running it. Whatever reason somebody made a virus for they made it to infect lots of computers - and most people run Windows.

No - It comes down to the matter of choice and free will. It is your choice to eat at McDonalds or any other fast food place. There are healthier options and most people have knowledge that the food is not healthy for them. And if they don't it's nothing more than a less intense version of somebody wanting to sue a paint company after trying to drink paint. The same goes for cigarette companies, tanning beds, etc...When people start blaming and shoving responsibility off on others for their actions is the point at which people should not be given free reign over their own life and choices. And I don't think that's a fair trade-off.

I'm mixed as far as NASA goes.I think there are several useful applications of space exploration and the biddings of NASA:-Helping us to learn about how space and physics and general operates can help us in a number of practical applications and advancing technologies back on Earth.-Learning about the possible origins of life or how life if it exists operates on other planets could help us find new ways to think about life and problems here.-There could be possible resources that could be used on Earth out in space, compounds that require extreme amounts of energy or pressure to form (think diamonds, although not really a compound, it requires extreme heat and pressure to form diamond) could be useful in new types of metals, armors, machine parts, or even energy sources.-Colonization of space is also something that could be really useful. If water exists even deep underneath the surface of Mars its possible we could bring some to the surface, add our own, or find other natural ways to create it. We could terraform Mars one day. We could make use the greenhouse effect that is harmful to us right now to heat up Mars to be conducive to life and introduce nutrients and plants and slowly animals and large human populations to Mars.It might take a long time but I'd love to one day see fuels being burned on Mars to increase the surface temperature, then fertilizers, plants, the whole shebang brought over to begin growing farms in huge tents pumping out oxygen generated by the plants and pumping in excess CO2 from the atmosphere, decaying and building a biological soil layer. Then larger plants, and slowly small animals and eventually bigger animals and people.. The interesting thing I think is how much water could we get on Mars? Mars is known to have water vapor in its atmosphere, but is there enough laying around to form oceans or at least seas or large lakes and to form storm-systems to support life long-term?Anyways alot of questions, but even with the possible gains from space exploration the big question is is it all worth it for a shot in the dark? I think we should continue to try and explore space but our first and foremost concern should remain Earth and bettering it first.

Mine was just a random spur of the moment-type spiel.

Alot of Cross Country or distance Track and Field runners will often ask how they can improve their times more. One of the best ways and times to do this is through good training in the off-season. In this guide I will try to answer many questions and give help to runners that may just be beggining to run distance, or have been running distance but have not yet reaped off-season training for its amazing benefits.
Easying Into Things
After your body has adjusted to running your summer should be devoted largely to building a "base". When you build base you should focus first and foremost on aerobic fitness levels, rather than working heavily, if at all on speed/anearobic fitness.
Bulk of Your Training
A sample weekly plan goes as follows.
Monday - Easy Run
Tuesday - Easy Run
Wednesday - Long Run
Thursday - Easy Run
Friday - Easy Run
Saturday - Easy Run
Sunday - Long Run
Pace for all of the above runs should be manageable, and easy run pace should be one that you can keep a conversation throughout, long runs should also be easy but by the end of your run you should be at least a little winded.
Resting/Cross Training
Alternative Workouts
Increasing and Varying Mileage
Beating the Heat
I also feel that a section on dealing with the summer temperature was necessary. You should plan around the weather. Try to get your runs in in the morning before the thermometer starts to rise. You don't need to wake up tremendously early, but you should plan to be up well before noon unless you want to go...what's the saying...out of the frying pan and into the fire?
So, that is my small overview on summer training. Hopefully it will be of use to somebody, and good luck to anyone out there!
I will work on a guide for some other helpful tips for runners and a guide for the much more brutal winter running season later on this year

Places for phpBB Modifications:
https://www.phpbb.com/mods/ - The phpBB website has a database of modifications, all are generally stable and safe and have to be approved for listing. http://www.phpbbhacks.com/ - phpBB Hacks has a fairly extensive list of modifications, some are also available on the phpBB website, but others are not. Might not necessarily be as stable or reliable, but my experience has been good and the authors all have proven to be reliable. They also have graphics and styles available. http://www.phpbbmods.de/hacks_list.php - A list of modifications with links available here. The site is German, but most if not all of the mods are primarily in English.Places for phpBB Styles: https://www.phpbb.com/styles/ - The phpBB website has a database of styles as well as a feature that allows you to preview demos of the styles. http://www.phpbbstyles.com/ - phpBB Styles has several phpBB styles to chose from, my only complaint is that the site is little difficult to navigate and find styles for a site centered around phpBB Styles. -
I thought I'd make a list of a few of the free MMOs I'm aware of. I know there are more but I can't think of any specifics at the moment, so I will add to the listing later.
Fly For Fun is a 3D cartoony MMO, it seems to be fairly successful. I don't know a whole lot about it but there's some general info on Wikipedia
Fury is a 3D entirely PvP-centric MMO that was released as a retail game, but due to some unpopular changes made to the game it lost alot of its fan-base. It was extremely successful during beta and its initial stages, but no longer has as much activity. It still has a great system and for a free game it is definitely worthwhile.
Maple Story one of the largest free to play MMOs, only 2D but it's popular for a reason I guess. I don't know a whole lot about it but there's some general info on Wikipedia
Rappelz 3D game, free to play, from a fairly popular developer of free MMOs. I don't know a whole lot about it but there's some general info on Wikipedia
Runescape 3D game, has a free-play option (also can subscribe for more features). I don't know a whole lot about it but there's some general info on Wikipedia
Shadow Bane is a 3D MMO, it's fantasy-esque like WoW and other games but has it's own feel to it. Great PvP combat system as well.
Silkroad Online 3D and free to play. It's built around trade on the Chinese Silk road, there's also monsters you can fight. Not bad overall.

What FTP clients available free online have people here used? I've used some in the past although I can't think of what they are called off the top of my head. I remember using some both good (easy to use and fast) and bad (rather annoying or needlessly difficult to use), so any tips on what to use?I'm just looking for one that's fast, easy to use-a nice good simple enter the FTP server info, drag or click the file/directory to upload and hit a button and there it goes).

I don't think there's aliens in the sense people imagine them... That is, I don't think there are little green men floating around our planet abducting people to perform examinations on them or whatever the nutjob down the block says happened to him last night. But I think life exists on other planets... It's really amazing, actually, there's a good quote from Jurassic Park of all places that says "Life will find a way". There's alot of theories (biological, faith aside) about how life could have originated on Earth. And the possibilities and ways in which some of the basic compounds of life, like nucleic acids, amino acids, and simple sugars and fatty acids can form naturally makes you think "this could happen somewhere else" and with the breadth and scope of the universe I think it could and would happen other places too, the only question then is will things make the jump from simple compounds to living. And judging on the size of everything I think so.For those interested look up some stuff on theories of the origin of life. There's all sorts of interesting tidbits on its origin.

Pretty interesting
If she could train a bit for a few other events she could do well in a Heptathalon or Decathalon some day.
She competed in the long jump (second), high jump (first), discuss (third), 100 meter dash (second), and 200 meter dash (first)
Being the smallest class in Texas it's not world class competition but it's certainly a hugely impressive accomplishment in my opinion.

Yeah, I really love Invision (2.* and 3.* are especially good, but not free). The features, flexibility, and just shear size of what's available both in the ACP and on different modification sites is just aweseome.Never really worked with SMF..
So far i tried out Invision Free and phpbb. I'd say invision is the easiest to administrate i've ever seen, tho i don't think you can use it in your own domain, that's why i recently started working with phpbb.
phpbb it's not bad at all.. Could have some more tools in the admin panel.. but i think it's pretty easy to run too
phpBB is also really good and is my pick for a completely free forum system. The newest version (3.*) is not too bad, it seemed like they wanted to add alot of great features that just never got in when it was in the earlier stages of development though. I'm a huge advocate of modifying just about any forum system however, phpBB 3 just doesn't have alot of stuff readily available so unless you're willing to and able to develop some modifications on your own it can be a little less than easy to get features you want.

Wow, that's just wow. I'm suprised that there haven't been any lawsuits by any PACs or interest groups for women's rights or anything like that, whole thing just screams..I don't even know how to describe what it screams.

I've been searching for a fully integrated version of PHP-Nuke with PhpBB 3.*. There is a bridge on the PHP Nuke site, but I generally stray from bridges because I've had mostly mediocre/bad or mixed results with bridges, alot of login issues across platforms and little integration. So I was wondering, does anyone know of a full/real integration between the two?

I think ShadowBane is free (contains ads of some sort, though I'm not sure what they're like). It's considered to be one of the better games for PvP, retail or free. It's not the best hands down but it's not terrible afaik.

It's not necessarily illegal, or legal. It might be prohibited by the game's user agreement/TOS. Is it exactly illegal to set-up a server? No, so long as you are not breaking any copyright laws, engaging in piracy, or anything of that sort. But I know various companies have successfully filed cease and desist orders against groups sponsoring or developing private servers. The common consensus on private servers is that at best it's just highly questionable.

I have a question for all those who play, and love or like games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Why??? I just don't get it. To me the games don't look fun, nor do they appear to have any other mystical quality about them other than their success.I will admit I have played Guitar Hero only once, but I just didn't find it all that amazing. Maybe it's just me because I'm not into the whole DDR-esque feeling, but where are some of the things that make the greatest games of all time? Great story, design, uniqueness, etc? Guitar Hero might get a few small points in the design area and maybe a half a point for doing a DDR (to me) rehash with a guitar, but other than that, what is there?

Mmm, I'm not sure. I'm a pretty big biology nerd so maybe some type of genetic advancement. I've always said somebody should make recombinant oranges with a different fruit's peal to make them easier to get into :(So that's my suggestion. Oranges in banana-like peels

Yeah, I really think they also over exaggerated on the whole Virgle thing. It made me chuckle for a second but as I kept clicking links and saw the whole YouYube thing and Richard Branson and all that stuff it got pretty lame pretty fast =/A poor april fools, even US isn't planning to visit, let alone a base, by something like 2035.

Haha, yeah. I actually hate the spell check in Firefox 2 though... Anyone else find #2 to be a little lackluster? I've had alot of problems with it, I don't think I've been able to say I ever had any issues with the original.
Somebody on the first page mentioned you can turn it off though I guess I can go ahead and do that. I found a download link for the old version over here http://filehippo.com/download_firefox/2743/ for anyone else interested... I think I might downgrade at some point. I'll see how version #3 pans out first.

Another great game is Fury. It's one of the first (maybe the first) 100% PvP MMORPG. It was originally a retail game (pay to buy the game, then optional paid upgrades but otherwise free). During beta it was extremely active, but the developers made a few less than popular changes that really hurt the activity and it was eventually made free for download. I'd check it out if you're all about PvP and don't want to pay.
