  1. Not really because if god created everything else, who created god?

The question is never ending, even the first time I ever thought about that, it was the first thing that came to mind.

EDIT: And for those that love the "he just was" line well here is mine "we just were", same logic.

Really good point there. As you said, the question is never ending. We will just have to wait and let time tell.

  2. I think God exists. If not, then who created everything? There has to be some type of "higher power" or, in other words...God. People say "Show me evidence that God exists, then I'll believe it."Well, I say "Show me evidence that God doesn't exist, then I'll THINK about changing my beliefs. Anyone agree?

  3. It makes logical sense. A tornado is caused when you have warm air currents and cold air currents spinning around in a funnel. If you heat the cold air with microwave energy (thus making it hot air, provided the humidity is above zero percent) you cause this cycle to terminate. The only real logistics problem with this is how much energy it would actually take, and how to power the massive magnetron required to generate said energy. Other than that, good concept, probably rockier execution.

Yes, but we probably will have a way in the next couple of years, possibly a decade or two. It may even be possible, to try and use this future technology on hurricane like storms. It would require 100's of times more power, and major satellites in space. However, our government may be to "tight" to spend that kind of money.

  4. I'm not convinced that global warming is a real threat...the evidence that the theory is based on is derived from models of dubious accuracy. There is just as much evidence to support that our planet goes through "hot cycles" and that the warming is a natural phenomenon as there is to support the global warming as a result of human intervention theory. The fact is, we don't have evidence that goes far enough back to show that humans are causing the gradual increase in the temperature on this planet.

Yes, I do agree. But you do hear of all these scientists trying to "Save The Earth" and you see campaigns and meetings, doesn't that say something? It is really a big question because you have one side of the story that says it is real, and it is happening. However, you have the other side of the story that says it isn't real. They both have factual evidence. So, how do you know if it is real or if it isn't real?

  5. "A blast of microwave energy beamed down from a space satellite could be used to tame the destructive nature of a tornado."

A blast of microwave energy beamed down from a space satellite could be used to tame the destructive nature of a tornado, a scientist said this week. Such weather-watching duty might be assigned to future solar power stations that would circle Earth.
Each year, about 1,200 tornadoes are reported in the United States, according to the American Meteorological Society. An average of 55 people die annually as a result of twisters, and billions of dollars worth of property are destroyed or damaged.

Their extremely high winds propel debris, destroy homes, collapse buildings and overturn vehicles. There is growing evidence that global warming may spawn increasing amounts of nasty weather, including tornadoes, at an even greater intensity in years to come.

But the tornado-nuking concept advocated here this week flies in the face of being at the mercy of Mother Natures fury. Called a Thunderstorm Solar Power Satellite, the concept was presented at the Space 2000 Conference and Exposition on Engineering, Construction, Operations and Business in Space, sponsored by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The proposal calls for beaming microwave energy into the cold, rainy downdraft of a thunderstorm where a tornado could originate. That pulse of power would disrupt the convective flow needed to concentrate energy that forms a tornado, said Bernard Eastlund, president of Eastlund Scientific Enterprises Corp, based in San Diego, California.

He has teamed up with Lyle Jenkins, a 37-year NASA veteran who now heads his own firm, Jenkins Enterprises in Houston, Texas.

The two researchers envision surgical strikes of microwave energy that could modify the temperature and fine structure of storm systems.

"We call it taming the tornado," Jenkins said. "With just a little burst of microwave energy, we think we see a way to negate the trigger point in tornado creation. We want to heat the cold rain. By tailoring the beam, it can absorb the rain that is part of the tornado-making process."

Eastlund has looked at data provided by the Advanced Regional Prediction System at the Center for Analysis and Prediction of Storms Center at the University of Oklahoma.

These numerical simulation data were used to study the formation of conditions suitable for "tornado-genesis." And he and Jenkins used them to see the effects of zapping an incipient storm with electromagnetic radiation beamed from a proposed Thunderstorm Solar Power Satellite.

Another aspect of their proposal could address the need for orbiting Doppler radar that could see tornado conditions forming. These data would be fed into a tornado-stopping satellite, perhaps positioned in geosynchronous orbit above the areas most affected by severe weather. By using a specially-tuned microwave pulse, rather than laser or infrared beams, that energy can be targeted within a storms interior, not through it or reflected away.

"You cant wave your hands about this idea," Eastlund said. "You've got to use real numerical modeling. My research shows that by heating the falling rain, we can turn off the downdraft that drives a tornado." More research is needed, he said, to further determine just how much energy would yield a knockout punch to a tornado on the brew.

But is it nice to fool with Mother Nature? "This is a new science were talking about of weather modification...a new paradigm which seeks to mitigate these violent weather systems," Eastlund said.

"If it does prove possible to prevent tornadoes," Eastlund continued, "then systems could be envisioned in which severe storm phenomena such as hurricanes and typhoons are also modified in some beneficial fashion, and weather modification could be routine in the 21st century."

Do you actually think this is possible, according the the information stated above???

  6. I spend way too much time on the net. Usually about 12 hours of the day Im online. Even on school nights, Im up til around 11:00pm. During Summer, I basically never get off the net. I usually spend my time surfing the net, going to forums, checking email, and playing games. Now, I started making websites/forums. I spend almost all of my time on the net.

  7. There are many people who have been diagnosed with some type of cancer. And many cases are fatal. There is a method to remove cancer from the body. Only to be achieved by cutting the human body and surgically removing the cancer growth. And in most cases, when this is done, the cancer is thought to be gone, however it has actually spread to other parts of the human body. Is this procedure of cancer treatment safe? Another alternative to treating cancer is radiation/chemo therapy. Is exposing the body to amounts of radiation safe? You would think not. Plus, it has a tendency to put you in a lot of sickness and pain. I know from experiences what cancer can do to someone. Scientists need to work a lot harder to come up with a better cure for cancer. They have been working and might be very close. The purpose of this topic is just to see how many people think you can Actually treat cancer. To have it removed by surgical matters or treat it by radiation. Whats your opinion?

  8. Global Warming, it's a major deal. But, is Global Warming really what scientists say it is? Could it really happen? Speak your mind about it. Are us humans adding to the destruction that Global Warming may do to our planet? In 20 years, could our world look as in the movie "The Day After Tomorrow"? What do you think?

Is this our planet in 50, 30, or even 10 years?

  9. It's Windows XP for me. It's what I have always used. I agree, it could be a little bit better, but I like it okay. I might go for Vista once it reaches the state where all the bugs are gone. I like PX because of all the programs/software thats available for it. I like to personalize my computer, and you find more tools for Windows than Linux or any other operating system. Well, thats my opinion!

  10. What I hate on this server, is that you can easily upload a .jpg picture and insert it on your site ; but once your picture is uploade, you cannot remove it from the server any more. So, if you change your mind and don't want to make this image public, it's too late, no way to remove it. :P

Yea, I don't like that at all. You would think they would make it a bit easier on people.

  11. Personally, I am all for PhpBB!!!I think it has to be THE best forum software on the planet!!! It is fast, easy, and has a nice slick look to it! I use PhpBB right now, it is so cool. I also have a PhpBB3 test forum. If you want to use PhpBB, and want the best looking forum, go with version3. When they release their Phpbb3 Gold version, they will start to Boom with add ons/mods. You can have hundreds, maybe thousands of mods and styles. When I get my free Xisto hosting, I am going to transfer my forum over to Xisto. I hope it will work rite. Also, if you want a good forum provider with support, PhpBB is the right place. You are more likely to find an answer by reading FAQ'S and their knowledge base, and you probably will not have to ask any questions. It takes about 5 minutes to install (not counting the time it takes to upload). It took me about 8 minutes to get everything up and running. Phpbb is the best!

  12. I think it will hit Earth, but by the time that happens, the following will have already occurred.

Based on that we have 1,000,000,000,000 (1 trillion) people alive all over the world. (This may not be true, I'm just using a number to show an example.)

*Nuclear War will occur (maybe with South Korea or Al Qaeda)

    - That leaves only 1,000,000,000 (1 billion people alive on Earth)

    *Global Warming will happen

    - That only leaves 1,000,000 (1 million people alive on Earth)

*The moon will get so far away, it will have no effect on the Earth's water: (Super Storms, Mega Tsunami's, Hurricanes over Michigan)

    - That only leaves 100,000 (One-hundred thousand people alive on Earth)

    *Doom Asteroid

    - That only leaves 100 people alive on Earth

    *1 week after asteroid

    - All life on Earth is gone

  13. I remember when I was little, I liked to put as many mentos into a bottle of coke, and quickly screw on the cap. We would find bits and pieces of that bottle all over our yard! I remember, one time we set off a mentos geyser in our town park :P It went higher than we (me and my friends) expected. This poor woman was on a bench reading the newspaper... lets just say she wasn't happy :P We had fun with these kind of experiments. We also got into trouble...LOL!

  14. Microsoft has come up with the newest technology in the computer world. You may have already heard of it, but I think it's awesome. The Microsoft Surface is the newest technology for computers. It's a big touch screen. It is flat like a table, and you interact with it using your hands, and other objects. It acts as a table, you eat on it, however, you can play games, go to the internet, draw/paint, etc.

It is the most amazing interactive device out there. I think everyone will want one. You can put your digital camera on the surface (just by placing it on the surface of the computer) and in about a half of a second, all your images/video will pop up on the screen, and you can move them, size them, play/view them. Then, you can set a phone on the screen, and slide the pics over toward the phone, and they zap onto your phone! Realy cool. Just go there and you'll see what I mean!
