  1. This is the exact question I was going 2 ask.I'm also wondering how anyone can tell if ur file is from a CD that u bought from the store???Also how can u tell if you have downloaded a file for free of from a site that offer MP3's for a price. And how can u figure out what country u D/L'd the file from.In many countries laws regarding this differ from country to country.I don't know if what I'm ask'n makes sense but I also want 2 host a few MP3's here for the sake of having music in my background.Am I able 2 share linx in this forum???Because I'll take request for songs. If I can find it I'll share it.

  2. IMO Firefox is better.I was a huge IE fan boy until I decided to turn to the darkside.I luv the tabs & and extentions/plugins.I'm use to using FF now and probably won't change back to IE no matter what fancy bells ands whistles they add.I hated when I set google as my homepage it would change it back to MSN without any notice. And I've found that I've had so many less attacks from trojans and other types of threats and viruses.

  3. Adding some words about illegal porn, those sites usually just link to each other and usually when created they aren't updated for a long time and as I understand they get a lot of traffic, people downloads porno a lot. As a matter of fact, the filters which filters porno and other stuff i very useful for your kids, for example Privoxy.. it also can remove all the ads and as I know there are people, even women who browse the net for porno sites and ads them to the filter system, that kids couldn't access them and etc. a very good job they are doing, but I wonder how do they feel about it.. Of course, if this is just an extra job, maybe you can get used to it, but watching/searching for illegal mp3 in my opinion is stupid, even though the "idea" is quite good, but I think it is just a waste of time.

    Very well said...
I couldn't have said it better myself.

I totally agree with you when u say its a total waste of time.
These kids could be spending this time being kids instead of doing the dirty work for their government.

    Great statement Quatrux.

  4. If you are singing, you may feel free to record your voice and put the music on your site, in order to make ourself worldwide known.

If you bought a regular CD, you can put it on your site, provided that only the people who paid a regular copy of this CD (in a shop) are able to ear it.

Or if you find a music totally charge-free. Some music records, after more than thirty years, have no more legacy or patent rights, nobody owns them any more, so your may feel free to offer them on your site.

Unfortunately, most of the musics you could happen to ear today are strongly patented by the great recording companies, and you are not free to put them on your websites.

By the way,Cunning Linguist , the subject of this post concerned the way of keeping a background image. If you are really interested by the type of files allowed here, maybe it would be smarter to open a new thread on that subject.

    Regards

    Yordan

Yeah I noticed that after I posted it.

    Sorry for getting carried away.

THanks 4 the info and not being a jerk about my slight hijack of this thread.

This info comes from this post : http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/

(which already is a closed post because useless !)

    Yordan

    Thanks 4 the link yordan.

I had no idea that you didn't need an invite anymore.

I would have requested a invite from you CyberReaper had I not gotten this link from yordan.

    Thanks to both of you.

  6. heck, I don't see a point in modding my XBOX, especially my 360. It's too precious to rewire it. Plus, why would I want to save games on my HDD. I rather spend it on media than games. That's why it's on DVDs for a reason. Plus, I don't like jipping the creator's work. This is IMO of course.
    xboxrulz

I'm considering modding my Xbox once I get my 360.
Rather than have it sit on my shelf colecting dust< I'm going to try and morph it into a media center.
Why not have a HD full of ur fave movies and web TV.
Plus if they decide not to my some of their games non-backwards compatible I'll alway have my oldie but goodie Xbox ready 2 play those great game from the past.
And if I can't find those classics lost in the sea of next-gen games I can always find a crack copy or something along those lines.
With the option of the many emulators out on the market, I could also bring back my old Atari and Coleco games.

  7. I had no problem till now. For background images or html files, no problem. I also used the Fantastico scripts which makes my life easy. To be honest, my free web hosting plan allows me rather few disk space here, so in order to save space I put no avi movies nor zip backups.
Of course, you should also read the Xisto rules, you may have a business site here, you may sell or buy, but everything has to be legal, no pornography, no forbidden things here.

    Thanks for the reply yordan.
I have read the rules twice.
I was just intrested in find out what types of Music files are allowed or are not permitted here?
I know most of the common file are allowed but I was just wondering about the older style files.

    Thanks again 4 the reply.

  8. Xisto is very reliable, because it's your provider. So, they kepp your files as long as you have a valid account. Which is not the case for free hosting image sites, which advise you that your files could disappear with any advice.Your adavantage at Xisto is that you pay your hosting (with money or with your posts), and they engage themselves to keep your files.

Now thats what I call a plug.
That probably one of the best plugs/segway I've seen in a while.
I just can't belieeve no1 beat u to the punch.

Now I gotta get to posting so that I can get some hosting from Xisto.

BTW are there any types of files that u cannot host here???

    Great plug yordan.

  9. One problem That i keep havving with Ftp is that it constantly disconnects whenever i stop transfering files. In a matter of 30 secs after my last file it just disconnects and its gettting really annoying having to type everything in again every two minutes. Is there anyway to keep the connection ALIVE. Does anyone know of an ftp that always keeps the connection?

Which FTP program are you using???
I use WS FTP LE 6.0 & have never encountered that kinda of problem.

  10. I like this idea quite a bit. It's alot like all those cars u see on "Pimp My Ride".But unfortunatly I have 2 agree with the others.Unless u can remove all of these components or can be sure u r safe from crime this is a risky project 2 put the time & $$$ into something that could be stolen faster than u put it together. My truck got broken into for some change,a few Cd's & a Snickers Bar in a security patroled parking lot.I was forced 2 put up a sign stating theres nothing of value in this vehicle. While this idea is kinda cool for the normal Joe.I do need time away from my comp from time to time. j/kBTW When do we get to see the pix???

  11. Although Laser guns sound very intresting and probably quite fun 2 own.I don't see this ever being avaiable to the public. As much as I'd like to have 1 the likelyness(sp) of this is near impossilble.I'd also like 2 have a transporter much like the 1 from Star Trek.As 4 this monitor that's paper thin & as flexible as the Chinese Cirrcus.I've seen something that closely resembles this monitor.I think it was also on the Discovery Channel. They didn't get into the detail of this monitor but it was in fact very flexible. They also did fold it up & put in in a bag/carrier.No price was given. My guess woulb be that it would cost an arm & a leg 2 get 1 of these.

  12. This is quite disturbing.Considering this is come'n out the part of the world most pirating is as comon as breathing or blinking. What happened 2 the days when u'd go camping with ur boyscout troop. Now they stick the kis in front of a comp & call it a day.Can Boyscouts/Girlscouts as a whole/company/establishment do something 2 prevent this from happening???How do this better a childs life.In truth theres no way 2 combat piracy. This story is so sad/outrageos, how they exploit their future generation.I guess it's better then work'n in a sweat shop earning pennies a day.If I was a parent of 1 of these children I'd would prohibit any sort of activity associated with this ludacris act of child expliotation.Whats even more disturbing is that they could just as easily hire an adult to do this job, yet they stick with the idea of using children as a sort of loophole/child labour.

  13. Bummer! You mean HL2 Aftermath? I thought that game was available only for registered steam users and online. Yea, I know how you feel ... HL1 was too awesome. HL2 was good as well, but the puzzles were easier and it wasn't quite as long.

I haven't tried this game out personally.
But I loved HL 1 & found HL2 fun but a lil on the short side.

From this review I'd probably pass on this game.
In terms of "Replay Value" this game sounds like it has none @ all.

I don't even find CS2/C-zero 2 be that great either.
    I luv'd the 1st CS to death & spent many a days play'n that.

It's sad how the newer games aren't any better thatn the previous versions.

  14. You can upload this background on your site using the file manager upload facitility in your cpanel. then, this background will have an absolute address like "http://forums.xisto.com/no_longer_exists/;. And then you can use this file as background on your web pages, this file wil stay there as long as you want to keep it there. I personnally have severall background files in my "myprivatefiles" folder, and I change from time to time. Was this your question ?

    Yordan

I never knew about this method...
    Thanks.

What I ususally do is upload them 2 a sever much like photobucket.
Heres the site I use most often.

    http://http://www.imagehigh.com/

I've never encountered any probs with this site.

Another method I use is FTP.

  15. I just played the PS2 version the other day & I have 2 say its pretty bad *bottom*.Grafix r pretty nice, cutscenes r great, even the celebrations r pretty close 2 the real deal.My only gripe was the passing system.I found it a little off. It could've been that I'm just used 2 Xbox controls. But nothing beat this game on Xbox/Xbox 360.I own 04-06 on Xbox & have 2 say 06 is probably 1 of my top 3 EA games in terms of replay value.I know 06 has the "Road 2 the World Cup" game mode that sound alot like Franchise in Madden & "Road 2 the Heisman" 4 NCAA.I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment of Fifa (current or Next Gen).Sorry 4 the "Necro/bring'n back the dead" but I love this game.
